They asked a question. What would you do? Ignore it? Then she would be dragged for that.
She could have spoken of her sister the doctor, and left it at that. But she answered one question, and then completely unprompted, talked. At length. About her 'impressive' family tree of doctors. She made that choice. It's unfortunate, but she did it.
Iβm not blaming her for something her ancestors did, but she kinda dug her own grave by bragging about being…
Agree. I watched that particular interview only yesterday and she definitely brought him up herself, as a brag (albeit gentle) about her ancestry. Whywhywhy Ha Young!? Why would you brag about your ancestor, when he is a known "Traitor to the Korean people"?!? And she fumbled it when later asked to clarify, by trying to downplay the seriousness. What a mess π People need to remember the Japanese Colonial era, is still in living memory for many Koreans.
It seems to me that you can trust this actor to always choose roles in progressive stories. Dramas that challenge issues of SK society in some way. It's impressive!
Rewatching for the eleventieth time, and confronted with the fact that THIS - a thriller drama, about injustice, classism, false accusations, misattributions, and even false and implanted memories (though I had forgotten that) - is my comfort watch π
I think IQiYi allows a degree of free access (if the app is available in your region...) New eps will be behind a paywall but some of it might be accessible.
It doesn't seem similar in the synopsis. Is it really a Japanese remake of Samdalri?
So sorry to upset you. No shade. It was a legitimate and genuine question, since remakes are a pretty common practice.. I know you're a real person, it's some other comments here on this page, that are bots.
What a mess π
