Badass Bunny Sep 23, 2024
Another awesome article Badass Bunny!
I feel like Jeon Mi Do should get a large mention here, along with her 2 cast-mates. Despite the epically tuneless renditions in Hospital Playlist, she's actually a renowned Musical performer. The terrible singing in it, is testament to how good an actor she is!

Oh, and I think Kim Sung Cheol is starring in Hellbound 2, very soon!

Correct. I never heard of him.
Exactly. I prefer it when the subbers give explanations in brackets.
But honestly I thought he was pretty well known πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ ...Netflix shows, restaurants all over the world...

Correct. I never heard of him.
Well...google πŸ˜†
Subbing a person out of existence and replacing their name with a pretty awful (IMO) English chef's name, is a very weird kind of whitewashing.

I see "melodrama" and I think South Korean makjang. πŸ₯΄πŸ€¨πŸ™„πŸ˜
Yep makjang this is not 😁 Whenever I see the melodrama tag on a KDrama, I think 'mellow'. If you went by the dictionary definition of melo, it's definitely different to what you'd expect. (Sorry for my annoying alliteration πŸ˜¬πŸ˜…)

I believe the scene where the main villain wear a mask and about to do something terrible to the kid filmed separately,…
Please be aware that many things can traumatise someone who has been victimised. It doesn't have to be explicit to be traumatic.

I'm confused by your comment - you said you understood what they were trying to show, but then also said you didn't…
I think you're trying to make a point that child sexual violence being depicted in a movie, that others are calling a bromamce, is problematic yes? I agree with you, but I also agree that sometimes movies are the only way that people become aware of such things in society. Personally I would've preferred to know it was central to the story before viewing. This movie IS NOT just an action comedy bromance, as you said!

Title No Gain, No Love Spoiler
Ep 6: took me a moment...
But love the return of Um So He from "Her Private Life"
I am a complete sucker for drama crossovers, inter-textuality and all things world-bulding-ish

Person Han Ji Hyeon
Amazed and impressed by her performance in No Gain No Love. Already a master of comedic timing AND physical comedy. I will be avidly watching out for her next projects!

If you loved Go Ahead, I would definitely recommend "Meet Yourself". It'sby the same screenwriting couple. Gorgeously calm, healing slice of life, with a very healthy, slow burn romance. And a diverse range of strong female characters.
Btw, did you know there's a Kdrama remake of Go Ahead, in the offing? *sigh
I'm going away to look up Circle now...

Yeah, it’s unfortunate how negativity often gets more attention here. Some people just seem to thrive on drama,…
Well I'm basic too then 🀷
I'll just add it to my list of traits assigned by other MDL users.
Too bad I already know who I am, as I'm sure you know who you are too ❀️

Korea doesn't have no-fault divorce like the US, although that may change with project 2025.
The comment is not political, it's a statement of fact.

i don t know the korean law , i guess the wife was with the husband because she had nowhere to go . her parents…
SK does not have "No fault" divorce. If both parties do not agree, then you have to go to court to prove the other person is at fault for some reason.e.g. abuse, adultery etc. So the onus is on the one seeking a divorce, to gather all the evidence. But the court can still rule against your petition for divorce. This is one of the reasons why "No Fault Divorce", protects victims of domestic and family abuse.

why does the law firm CEO hate Cha Eun Kyung so much? I don't get it!
This is the single plot point that keeps throwing me out of this drama. There's no way in hell, the CEO of a law firm, would want to get rid of such a successful attorney. Regardless of his prejudices, she has a massive public profile and is a massive money maker for the firm and therefore him. There's no way you'd get rid of her. It's just creating lame conflict for the sake of conflict. So unrealistic, soooooo frustrating....
