I agree with your point of view. I am NOT a fan of revenge. BUT I would recommend this. For once I whole-heartedly support the avenger. It's definitely not taken out on the child (the synopsis above gives almost nothing away). If anything, I would argue, the one seeking revenge, saves the child from being raised by horrific parents. And I think that was a deliberate part of her plan, because of her own horrific childhood.

Ep18, please. Please. Desist from the slow-mo running. It's excruciating to watch...I turned it into a flat sprint with my FF button and it was still excruciating. I know it's SUPER judgmental of me but it completely destroys my enjoyment when I have to watch unathletic people, be UNECESSARILY athletic. And if they're directing the FL to "run like a girl", then it is even more infuriating! Yes she's desperately running to him, but with 5 mins of training she could run properly enough for filming, and it wouldn't even be an issue.

I TOTALLY agree, but it makes sense in a Korean context. SK doesn't have "no fault divorce". You have to prove fault, with physical evidence (which can he REALLY difficult with abuse) or both parties have to equally agree to the divorce. So, it may seem counter-intuitive, but adultery can be an easier way out of an abusive marriage.

I have more of an issue with the father. Completely abandoning his children, and then betraying them by leaving her the house...but yeah, he gets off scott free in this, whilst the woman is demonised. Yes, she's a terrible person, but I find him more reprehensible.

Sorry but I disagree. I think it's a mistake to compare it with My Mister (I've commented already). It is slow moving but there are very clear choices around the scene settings, the music, the colouration. And the main characters definitely have depth, (even if their angsty troubles can seem a little bit bourgeois...) I'm finding the acting is making me empathise far more than I ordinarily would with this kind of plot. Maybe come back when it's all done and see if the outcomes suit you more 🤷
The similarities between the two dramas are obvious, but I think the two female characters are very different.
I actually don't see the dramas as similar at all, except maybe in tone. And WooJoo and Ji-An are nothing alike; their backgrounds etc., bear no actual resemblance. It's a style thing - maybe a tribute... (In my crazy over-actualising imagination, I see WooJoo as having grown up watching My Ahjussi, and feeling herself to be victimised by life, in the same way. But there's a level of privelege on display here, that did NOT exist in Ji-An's world)
