Thankyou for stating so clearly, exactly what I've been trying to formulate in a review! Whilst I did plod through its entirety, it was over-all, QUITE disappointing. I think i was holding on, hoping it would redeem itself.

It's full to the brim of mystery and intrigue in the first 2 eps, with very little love triangle so far...which is also a good reason to wait and binge (if you're impatient like me)

As I said, I think we're seeing it differently.

OMG it's right here (sorry!!) FL plays it out with the Beauty brand executive in Ep 4 with the whole "I'm stupid I don’t understand poetry*. Although she's kinda using it to protect herself **deep sigh**
And the whole, hiding of her ornithologist persona ...

I hear you, but my suspicion (or hope) is that the writing is deliberately challenging. My absolutely most hated 'type' the FL is portraying is: The 'beautiful idiot' who is actually super smart but infantilising herself, to be attractive.
Because, you know, smart females=NOT attractive.🙄
But it's so early and obvious, I think it's on the table for "drama growth"

So awful and concerning that you expected to be attacked! But not surprising... Widespread understanding of prejudices and internalised biases, seems a long way off.

I SO got a different feeling in ep1. To me it came across as him being resigned to her touch and not actually accepting of it AT ALL. Maybe we're coming from a different perspective and are seeing it differently. 🤷‍♂️
The whole non-consensual touching and severely stalking behaviour from the FL, is really troubling IMO. And the ML is a non-consenting victim of her troubling behaviour - he shouldn't have to take a step back.

Just came to the page to say almost exactly this! But I will stick it out for a bit longer. C-dramas IMO often do a good job of character growth so I'm hopeful.

This started out cute and sweet, but the persistent stonewalling by Situ Mo towards Wei Yi, in the final few episodes, is foing my head in. IRL this relationship would be bound for failure.

Finally found time to watch this. It's lovely! One of its small gifts for me; Gu Wei Yi's internet searches of whatever pops into his head at any time - How does the "patient scanner" work? Who created the printer? How do I fix my mobile phone screen? - evidently I am not the only one *phew*!

I love that this drama finally, FINALLY played out, how I think public marriage proposals and grand gestures should go. To put a person you supposedly love, in an untenable position like a public proposal or 'grand gesture', where they can't say no, is disgusting to me. They are a horrible example of co-ercive control, that has been normalised by "Hollywood" and K-dramas - we've come to expect them as the dramatic high point, the denoument of the 'romance' genre. I could write an essay...but the writer has set it up in such a way that we all know she's being 'set-up'. So we can all have the correct response (I hope) of cheering YU CHUs bravery in saying no.

I personally found I enjoyed the show more if I completely ignored the romance bw ML/FL. The secondary couple had more chemistry/comedy/conviction. I agree with Kunaga Kushi, it works better to view this as a comedy. It has some gret LOL moments and is gold for pure silliness.

I agree it's very, very cringe for sure, but I think, very typical SK 'aegyo'.

Sure the character is NOTHOT!! But Chris Wu?! Many people would disagree...it all begins with "Autumn's Concerto". 😁
