Trailer is good, promising somewhat an unusual story with good visuals, plus FL is out of her "cheerful a bit stupid cute" usual scope, ML is popular, so no wonder. Gonna wait for the ending though, cause watching 40 episodes to see a tragic ending is just not my cup of tea.
I really like Bin Bin here, he has boss aura, looks fantastic, but his character doesn't seem cold, he actually can't keep his hands aways from FL from ep1 :D FL... somehow I don't really like this actress, she tries to be different from cute faced super young female leads, but she just doesn't give me "smart vibes" and she seems so much inferior to the ML both at work and in private.
I mean, this is how you can make bad plot be watchable, but I am so annoyed with FL, on ep 6 and she still can't…
Finished and didn't change my mind about FL - she was very average as character, and I didn't like the acting as well. They spent really a lot of time on all evil characters, but romance? not enough, imo.
Finished and loved it. Author of the original novel was quite creative in building multiple groups of interests, and authors of drama were good in presenting their clashes in exciting way. When I watch c-dramas I always notice a lot of patters, and this drama did really great in trying to be free from them. Lead couple sometimes gave nasty evil vibes, which was refreshing :D Their visuals and interactions were unique. Some secondary characters also won my heart, including the main villain. But uncle Bei was the wildest.
I mean, this is how you can make bad plot be watchable, but I am so annoyed with FL, on ep 6 and she still can't make anything but shocked eyes and I can't get why ML is in love with her - I understand there is some not yet shown backstory but while we see just "now" she doesn't do or say anything right towards him.
He is tragic, pathetic and stay true to a villain role to the end. He is good hereππ».
Thank you! I like this actor, and I also like when an actor who typically plays romantic protagonists/second lead, takes villain role and looks believable in it. Prince is scary sometimes, love it π
Spoil me, if I can hope for Tang Xiao Tian to go full villain here?.. I mean he seems to be the main antagonist, but what if he is just a tragic character or something :D
How much of a comedy is it? I'm not really into Chinese comedy all that much, so I'm not sure if I'll enjoy it.…
It starts with a lot of comedy, and I assume funny scenes are going to continue, but after a few episodes quite strong dramatic scenes happen too, so this is a combo of comedy and drama, in which Chinese shows are actually good. Cheng Lei is absolutely hypnotizing here.
Finished. This would be a really good watch with a FL who can act and a bit faster final arc. ML was great (his soft gaze at FL was so intense omg), dialogues were good, plot was ok. I really liked the villain! And the variety of relationships this story had! finally FL had several male friends, neither of whom was romantically interested in her, and her main relationships were also not typical, and that princess/general backstory? chilling! As for the final arc, many Chinese dramas have pretty much the same trick at the end, and it often just lasts too long and that's why lacks emotional impact.
Me: ok, so I saw Shen Jing Hong in another drama and consider him 1) beautiful 2) a very good actor. Can I have more of him in different scenes, crying, smiling, sad, happy, kissing, drinking?
Creators of this drama: YES.
