I cannot work out if this is like a sci- fic webtoon or what?

Is Kanglim a camp where they put soldiers who are at risk of suicide or what?

That's why I am staying. I cannot work out what I am watching.

I thought I was missing something in ep 1 but I have finished ep 4. What made me think this was an ordinary Kdrama?

Its weird as shit and I am looking at the fine supporting cast and them obviously acting with a green screen. Those are experienced supporting cast. I was laughing so hard at their antics. Its this after the Yoona and the culinary drama? The ML in that drama was good. The director is obviously going for campy and cheesy. I think the director is responsible for some of the choices he approved of. There is campy and then there is tacky. This drama's CGI verging on tacky.

However the supporting cast is stellar. The ML can act. There must be a reason why they all chose this script. I just have to trust that they like the storyline and the script.

There is this overheight shot of the capital city....

Then we have cliffs and dirt pathways. Even Tongzhua was a port?

And then there is the wide long beach with beautiful waves.🤣🤣😂😂

I bet even the actors said " wtf " then enjoyed the day off at the bea h.

He wasn't forced to marry. He made a choice to save himself by marrying into the Yu family.

There are people in rea life who chooses the easier path then feel as if they are victimised. I see it now amongst people I meet. Then they justify their actions using that as an excuse. So " nah " not feeling sorry.

And oh yeah if you don't expressly say something to the girl its a one side love. So " nah. " No guts no glory.

Yeah what the heck do people think the chambermaids are? And childhood betrothals. The men married when they were boys. Those older females are brutal. I can't even watch the torture scenes by women. They are worse than men.

I didn’t want to tell her/him my grandfather had 4 wives and it was openly acknowledged. So did other relatives. The family was rich enough to afford it. And I am not even living during the Ming Dynasty.

Then you better not watch historical dramas then. Its a lie if a Cdrama potrays a single man.

He is supposed to be younger in age but they used an older actor.

A mistress is the same as a concubine to me. He is above 20 years old.

I respect your opinion just stating some common historical drama themes. I am also used to multiple wives culturally. I don’t agree with it but its not an unknown concept.

I have to google this series. I am on ep u and its so much talking. Then fighting. Then talking. Then fighting.

I am not sure how much longer I can last. I can't even work out if there is a plot worth talking about.

I see him alone in the beginning OST. I assume he will be alone. There is no romance tag.

I am on ep 5 now and just started this today.

The fight scenes are fine. Sorta. The camerawork is a bit clunky. I am commenting because I wasn't expecting it to be having funny angles, close ups etc.

I literally cannot work out why this wuxia feels so disjointed. I am not even expecting any romance because there is no romance tags. He is also shown alone in both beginning and ending.

Is that Hao girl alright? She is a bit dense isn't she?

Different vibes. However based on the current epiaodes I have watched- that ML is confident and supportive. He doesn't have the looks I like but completely suited to the role and the main couple have chemistry.

I need a break man after a 45 episode marathon. There was a lot of plotting in that drama. I have to remember who crossed who and what happened.

Can I start watching again? I stopped at ep 25.

I have marathoned The Story of Ming Lan from ep 1-45 over the weekend. I am emotionally wrung out.

I need a payback if I watched todays episodes or wait till ep 40 airs.

Otherwise would head over to the Yang Yang dramas.

I think I have ODed over stepmothers. I cannot even remember what JZ's father and stepmother looks like. Its evil, bitchy, underhanded, killing, torture, dying or unrequited female leads.... from 2 dramas. I am literally drained as a viewer.

There's Gu, Chen, Ye here. Then there is Gu, Sheng, Qing, Yan, Liang, Wen and who else? Both fathers are officials. I am getting the Ministry they are in mixed up. This GJZ has the 3rd sister and brother? The other has the 4th and 5th sister?

See? I am getting my dramas mixed up.

That's hilarious in a non- funny way. He is such a goner.

The story of Ming Lan. I am now ep 26 and the main couple are nowhere near the flirting stage.

However the brisk storytelling pace is phenomenal. Its a 2018 drama and looks set to become not my favourite drama but certainly in the top 5 for welll written ensemble cast drama.

3 years morning has passed. When? In ep 1? 15.

Gosh I am skipping ep 26. Episode 27 and 28 looks very heavy. I might even not watch till ep 30 airs so I can get beyond the red and white scenes.

Its long man. I don't watch long dramas so being on ep 6 is killing me. I watched ep 63-65 to check out the vibes and liked it enough to check out from ep 1.

Episode 11 is just the right balance and break. I am returning to ep 6 and

I will tell you though that this drama has an absolute gem. The kid playing the King. My god he is phenomenal for his age. His acting is superb.

I have an opinion and have no time to whine. I am also starting The Story of Ming Lan and My Royal Nemesis

I like my balance of drama life. Some light. One crazy. One super long 73 episodes.

So different tastes for different viewers.

I am on ep 5 now. How old is Gu Ting Ye because he looks like a man. Did he also just get a mistress? Vs a concubine?

I am trying to work out how Qi Heng fits into the whole picture with the bitchy 4th sister.
