I think it’s more like FL isn’t sure she can successfully juggle both relationship and studies. But some things…
I know. That's why I meant. You're supposed to have romance in college. In medicine at least- which we know its difficult- there is a popular saying " date and find your future spouse in med school. You won't have time once you graduate."
Its not high school. Unless they are doing a difficult double degree or on a full scolarship and needs to maintain a perfect GPA ( which is never a requirement ) make time to socialise.
That's the basic when you're in college. That's the drama trope the drama is using.
What's the trailer for ep 13 please? Thank you. Look at me, I've done ep 12 and now have to get to work to spend 4hrs plus reading for a presentation tomorrow. Its the Intranet so I have to go in. Do I have time to socialise on my days off? No. So yeah... just saying that's why I like watching college romance dramas. Realiity or work life dramas are full of work or boring adult- like stress.
I am at episode 11. Are we at the tiring drama trope where the FL avoids the ML for Noble Idiocy reasons?
This is after watching countless high school to college romance dramas.
I mean she is not wrong. This is the 2nd chance. I remember not studying much during my degree. In fact I wondered how the hell I passed. So I have some sympathy with her reasoning. Its just that its so tiring to watch.
Ergh. I did wise up for my post- grad so its like her: the 2nd chance. I made it to the Dean's list so yeah studying is important but I am now working so I wish the **** romance to start. Argh....
I haven't seen ep 12 because i refuse to pay extra to watch 1 extra episode a day, but in ep 11 He Yan already…
I think we are going to agree to disagree. The point I was trying to make is that the drama puffed up her abilities but the details in ep 12 was sloppy writing.
He Yan the new recruit is unproven in battle. She just won 2 fights against 2 other recruits.
Its like a warrant officer saying that this private could draw a defence map. Or a senior non- com who sat back and let a recruit fight against the enemy leader. It doesn't matter which country, which century, drama or real life- the narrative was jarring because it made me go out of the drama story flow moment? That's why I made the original comment.
So we have to agree to disagree. I am fine with what you posted. What I said was its lazy writing to drive a plot forward.
The barracks had no patrols on the wall and at the gate.
How did the Liehe troops ride into the barracks? There wasn't even any challenge or spike barriers. This is a freaking permanent camp/garrison.
A chief instructor who doesn't know strategy? Why would he listen to her? She is a newbie with no battle experience.
Yeah. Needed to get it off my chest.
I know its the plot device but the writer needs to do some research. Cavalry will trump infantry. Only 12 deaths. For God's sake there is artistic license and pure laziness in writing.
Facts! She does not give male or even tomboy vibes at all. She's supposed to be more mannish, but instead, she's…
Lmao. I lost the momentum. I am currently reading an ebook. I will catch up later. Of the 3 currently airing Cdrama Summit of my youth has been the most narratively correct. Its not fantastic but at least its more realistic.
But yeah I remember not bathing for days during my army days. Yes I am female. And yes she is immaculate. With the super long hair too.

I have seen lesbians who are tougher and more musculine than her.
She is a pure petite female who walks like a girl, doesn't even talk like a tough girl, also has a voice like a girl and doesn't disguise it, ant waist, fair like sunlight never touched her, has a perfect and total skin care, hands like a girl, no Adam's apple.
Basically.... which part is like a boy? Much less an experienced general?
Fact. This is 2025. Do you personally know or have come into contact with feminine yet tough female soldiers or police women? I have. Now that persona? The director didn't get it. China has dramas where they have female police officers. The couple I saw were not bad. I remember a drama the female cast were all female Special Forces soldiers. My God that was bad. That is the vibe I am getting. She is doing well with the fight scenes though but she just doesn't have the female soldier vibe. Or brought up as a boy vibes.
Saw the leads promoting the drama in a variety show (which I believe they filmed before the drama aired): https://youtu.be/VMQJgSndvIU?si=cxXobVoE3jnTHJ0_It…
crazy comment cuz, for most of these, this drama has the best we have ever seen in chinese dramas 😶
As long as its in the donghua descriptions then its ok.
Its no the quality. Its the style. The strobe lights and the firing sequences of those arrays. That's what i am talking about. I went to YouTube just now just to doublecheck that I didn't give out the wrong comparisons.
Don't worry about it. I am still continuing the drama. I just remembered those video games. It used to be in my hostel during college and I played it for stress relief. Its just that I broke down the elements of the fight scens because I play video shooting games and I also happen to watch a lot of Stargate.
You go enjoy the show. I am just happy to watch Yang Yang.

Er I have actually seen better ones. I would say though it has the one of the MOST special effects in any Cdramas. It is a lot. Maybe tha t's where the budget went. Have you noticed its repetitive? I mean its the same artifacts so it has to be the same.
I watched those shiny green, orange and yellow light shows in person and on tv. Bring up the New Year countdown shows on TV from many years ago.
The shoot ' em spray effects. Watch your video games. The arcade ones. Some are 20 years old or more. Not the Minecraft or Roblux ones. Not even Brawl Stars but the older ones.
I recall some xianxia dramas and their arrays but yeah this drama is heavy on their laser. I suspect the budget was used up because there is that much CGI in each episode. What I want to know is if the books had such descriptive fight scenes or is it the drama writer who wanted such fight scenes.
I've been very busy in real life so I just watched. I think I finally understand why Youku needed more edit. And why the special effects seems off. I understand the budget was big so why was the special effects so predictable and dated? Is it the budget or is that what happens in the book?
Let's break it down to
1. Wire work. So much of it. 2. Postures- very obvious postures and positions. Its almost wooden as if they are performing to specific instructions.
3. Voice masking. Old tech. 4. Laser show. Also old tech. Must be 10 years or more. There is so much laser graphics used.
5. Graphics. Litèrally like those you see in the older computer games. They didn't change or use their imagination.
6. The monster designs and also the smoke spirits. Geez. Did they reuse the monster designs?
7. The defensive or offensive arrays. I swear, they remind me of StarGate.
8. Did I see some Beyblade designs graphics.
9. So many force fields.
There are no bold or new techniques or designs. There are so many shoot 'em dead games.
I would admit that the actor is good looking. Exactly my type of guy but totally not lovable for me to side his affairs. He reminds me of the 2 other good looking actors. Can't remember the names.
When do they reach adulthood? They are adorable but I am on ep 3 and need to stop for the night. Goddamit I have a full day and weekend and cannot afford to sleep at like 2am.
It’s the actress. I don’t think this role is the right fit for her.
I was trying to work out the missing X factor for thecrole. However Ryanf Cheng and his brooding gazeis enough for me.
I picked up Summit of ourcyouthcyou see. So that's a guaranteed romance so I guess I would just have to deal with future ir probable future torture and punishments scenes here.

The enemy got into the garrison. There were no sentries at the game etc.
The time frame for this was or should be pre 19th century. They had no guns remember?
The barracks had no patrols on the wall and at the gate.
