I have other issues today rather than romance.

I am more stressed out that there is currently NO GOOD romance Cdramas to watch right now. Yup that's right. I am a romance drama viewer who cannot find a SINGLE romance drama with any male lead I want to watch. There is either something wrong with the female character or the male is a wimp.

That's why I am taking a stoic chap and a girl who is clever but keep going off the handle.

I am going back to an actual book for the week now. There ain't nothing in drama land this week.

So many other things happening and you're still going on about romance.

Do you NEED romance in every drama?

There is romance.

Apparently Yushan is doing ok right as the Imperial family Duchess Qi. Her husband doesn't seem to be abusing her.

Hanyan' s mother had that 18 year longing for Yuwen romance.

Zhao Ruyin seem to have a devotion to Zhuang Zhiyang.

Hanyan has a devoted maid who loves her.

Fu Yunxi has 2 deputies who are also devoted. He also has a loving mother.

So like really; does a drama has to be reduced to whether its a good drama or not becuase the YFX/ZSY are not kissing and holding hands.

If they are smiling, holding hands and seeing the floating boats thingy, throwing the hand written wooden tokens onto trees, climning on roof tops looking at fireworks, flying kites on a romantic afternoon, going for romantic horse ride, she feeding him something after her furiously cooking in the kitchen?

Lordie. Its like asking 2 CEO and COO of a big company in the middle of a hostlle takeover which caused employees to suicide, massive lay offs, dropping shares, business spies to go off and have regular romantic dinners, cuddling sessions when there is a big conglomerate with a ruthless owner wanting to crush them and kill their business.

Sorry. There has been torture in this drama. The Cai Jing one. Plus the mother.

Boiling might even be included in this drama. It was the imagery. I probably wouldn't have reacted if it was beheading, pulled apart by horses etc. It was the word " boiling". I stil haven't recogered from the being beaten till her bones were broken and the tendons severed.

Ok have to say that episode 24 surprised me.

Forgive me for not cottoning on that Zhuang Zhiyang is the male version of the Princess Royal in The Double. And the Princess Mingyue in Si Jin.

He's scrawny and he can act. However he has small forearms and lily- white hands. There is no way he will look suitable for this role.

Why is the gold hidden if the dad was looking for it? Why is the hiding place his home?

A home. Man I don't see it happening. The male lead is still vomiting out blood.

The body count is actually quite low in this drama.

I am not saying this drama is perfect. However this drama is doing its job. Its fulfilling its daily duty. To entertain.

It seems to be a trend. Every time a drama is ending a lot of negativity emerges.

Do you all have a lot of unrealistic expectations? Do you expect perfection? How often does that happen?

Over 90-95% of historical dramas I watch are illogical, bloody and gory and have the worst endings. At least half or more have open ended ending or the main couple if they are alive; all leave their homes. However mostly one of them die or in xianxia dramas have them reincarnate after 500 or 1000 years.

So... this one has the heroine tortured for 17 years and in prison once. The male lead poisoned probably fatal and whipped, slashed and what- not

We don't have the female lead sewing, doing embroidery, painting, writing poems, playing whatever instruments, doing calligraphy or cooking. Yay. Instead she was madame of the house halfway through the drama. Any detailed orientated Chinese citizen checked that the abacus scene was correct?

The editing is great. The pacing fast. The leads have direct eye contact and have an open brutally frank relationship 2/3 into the drama. They are not separated for episodes at a time. No one has lost contact for months or even weeks. No one has visited anyone imprisoned.

There are Emperors involved, inner chamber politics and nobles and officials. And no one is stuck for days in prison.

You guys forgot the basic regular dramas we normally watch? This is a masterpiece in comparison.

I say it again. Do you all have unrealistic expectations or what? Episode 24 is coming up. I am not skipping episodes. Its keeping me entertained. That's the basic thing a drama should do.

Romance? Pish tosh. Go watch a straightforward ladylike, idiotic, clingy, dependent on male, reverse harem drama then. Tons of them around. Look at how many tags this drama comes under on MDL. Romance is there. That is correct. Look at what other tags there are.

' nuff said. This is probably for the new viewers. People who have reached ep 18- 19 and still unhappy should be leaving or about to anyway. At least they watched that many episodes. Plenty of other mundane romance fluff and idiocy around.
