Not only that I just realized she was also the main actress in Qing Luo with Liu Xue Yi, I liked that drama (not a lot of people do, but I did). I am so bad about placing some of these actors. I love it, though when I realize, "oh I have seen her or him in another drama"

I believe it is because of anti-fans. I am not a fan of the ratings being allowed until the drama is actually over. The fact that anyone is allowed to rate a drama while a drama is ongoing is aggravating, so many people don't even care about the drama at all, It is all about the actors, if they don't like the actors they will down rate it, which imo isn't fair. That is why I do not pay attention to ratings, I read the synopsis and then watch a few episodes (sometimes a bit more), before I decide if I like a drama and want to watch it, etc., but not everyone is like that. I do choose or prioritize my drama watching based on actors that I like (story or synopsis is usually second), but even if I like the actors doesn't always mean their dramas are good.

Can someone tell me why the sister is butting into her brother's (XJL) love life? Also, why is she at her parent's house as if she is living there, isn't she married? She keeps harping about MCH being a leech or wanting their money, yet she acts the same in a way, whenever she supposedly was married off because of business deal, so she should have her own wealth, because of her husband. I find her more annoying than any other character.

I feel sorry for MCH and the grandma. They are the most sincere, honest, and true people in this story. All the rest are trying to use them or scam them in some way, except for maybe MCH's dad (although he is a bit complacent and just goes along with the mom).

I agree with you. If you are going to promote a drama with certain leads, you would expect them to have ample screen time, whether it is together or not. I felt this with "Be Your Own Light", they promoted heavily with Liu Yu Ning as a male lead in that but he wasn't in a lot of it, there were a few episodes he wasn't in at all.

So I went ahead and started watching it and finished the first 6 episodes. So far, i am enjoying it, a bit draggy in some parts, but that is just my personal taste.

Even though, we haven't seen a lot of Xu Kai, I do have to say I am really liking his role in this. Lately, I have been turned off by a lot of his dramas, but for some reason I am enjoying his role and his acting here. I find the initial chemistry with Yang Zi very down to earth and looking forward to more of their interactions in the future. As far as Yang Zi, this is the type of role I like her in. I just finished rewatching Gogo Squid (one of my favorites) and I hope to enjoy this as much as I do that one.

As far as the story, yes it is a bit cliche, definitely have seen the scenarios before, but is all about how the actors portray their respective characters and so far I think they are doing quite well.

A bit nitpick, I think XJL's mother seems way to laid back for being of a higher social class. She didn't say or do anything when her daughter was being a "B". She even commented before the dinner to her daughter, as long as her son is happy then she would approve the marriage. Also, for XJL and MCH being together for 3 years they don't seem to know much about each other. How do you go 3 years and not know who your son is dating?

I could go on about a few other things but I will stop here. Looking forward to more episodes.

I really want to start watching this, but I prefer to binge watch all episodes. Should I start now and watch while it is ongoing or should I wait til all episodes are out?

I wouldn't say the ML got cuckold, so to speak. The king (emporer) whatever he is, just found out the FL was really a female and not a male. The FL basically in order to restore her name and be in good graces with the king (and I do think there were some issues going on between her and the ML at the time) decided to do what is best for the country and allowed herself to be married off to Helian Zheng, she didn't care for him or anything, she did it for the country and also she didn't really have much faith in her and the ML being together.

First of all, I will say this was way to long. After about episode 12, I started fast forwarding and then started skipping episodes. I just got bored. The story is some what interesting, but it just dragged. I will probably go back and re watch some parts where I skipped eventually.

I personally didn't like the transition from Kim You Jung to Uee. That is probably why skipped a lot of the episodes after they came to the present day. It was such a huge difference in acting and skill and even looks that it was hard to believe Uee was playing Baek Won. Although, Jung Il Woo and Oh Jae Moo don't look a like, Jung Il Woo acted perfectly in sync with what Oh Jae Moo initially did with the character of Do Yeong, so it was more believable.

I just started watching this, never heard of it before, until I saw it on Viki and saw that it had Jung Il Woo in it, which made me want to watch it more. All I have to say is, I don't know if I have ever hated any characters more than this. I don't know why Han Joon is even friends with that Eok Jo person, he is the worst character ever. Not trustworthy, sneaky, just an overall horrible human being. And that grandma lady, omg, you can't just take someone's kid from them, and how she treats everyone. Ugh, I am feeling more frustration and angst watching this than joy and I am only on episode 5. Just waiting til I see Jung Il Woo, then maybe I will be happy. Right now the only character I like is Kim You Jung's portrayal of Baek Won. Oh and that little curly haired kid is such a whiner. I have never seen anyone whine so much as that kid.

I am so excited for this collaboration. I haven't been into C Dramas lately, cause honestly there have been none that have kept my attention. I really hope this one turns out really good. Love both Main Leads and can't wait for this.

From what I have heard the drama follows the original novel more so than the webtoon (which the webtoon was based off the novel but hugely condensed with a few things changed, one of the biggest being Yu Ra's existence).

I love a good villain as well. You know they are a good villain when you hate them so much and are so invested in their story just as much as the protagonists' story. To me that is a sign of a very good actor. (for example, the villains in Vincenzo, OMG they were crazy insane good)

Me too, I don't usually read them, if they are really good I will read them after, but this time, I was so interested in the story that I read the webtoon during the airing of the drama and I regretted it. Most of the story I heard was mostly based off the original novel though.

I loved watching Ji-Won practicing to get the zip ties off. Also, how could they stand being the room with the fumes of the thinner, realistically wouldn't it be very hazardous? Su-Min really doused that room and there were no open windows.
