Love At First Sight - Didn't work for me here

I really, REALLY struggled to watch this drama. They showed the boy falling in love with the girl at first sight, literally, through a misted window. While this meet cute trope works for a lot of people, FOR ME, it's not my favorite and must have the right formula to work. Where I've seen it executed best is with dramas like DOTS, Lost Romance, Strong Woman, You Are My Hero, Go Go Squid. It didn't help that I couldn't fall in love with the FL, although I desperately tried. I just would have liked the ML paired with someone who could have matched his intensity. Here, I just felt he was dragging the FL along with him through the scenes. The slow pace was also an issue for me. While I do appreciate slow-paced dramas, and like them sometimes, I have to be in the right mood and patience to watch them.In all fairness, I did give into the 10 star reviews and tried to watch it several times, but AGAIN, I couldn't bring myself to like it. I just thought the FL was way too 1-dimensional compared to Leo Wu who is more 3-dimensional. His infatuated stares alone could make a watermelon fall in love with him. And, IMO, I think Leo Wu’s infatuated stare works best with leads with a little more energy and reciprocation. (Landy Li, Zhang Miao Yi, Lu Yu Xiao...to name a few).Summed up: This series is like disliking tomatoes, knowing you dislike tomatoes (LAFS trope, the FL, and slow-pacing), but having everyone tell you to just try it, you’re going to love it, but in the end, you not only still dislike tomatoes, you’re mad. Overall, 1 star for Effort and 1 star for Leo Wu. 2/10.
