Love it
I like this movie because it is realistic and believable. Real love is not what we usually see in dramas. Romance is imperfect. I loved this version of what that means. The story was cleverly illustrated to sympathise with all four main characters, so taking sides is pretty difficult. I found the ending quite interesting, and not expected at all. I was almost thrown off by the rewind, but since nothing changed and it was used to add detail, it was okay. I think it was a bit unnecessary though, as most viewers would have understood the meaning. Either way, it's a good film that casts a shadow on love. Was this review helpful to you?
Confusing story but well made
This was a weird rabbit hole to fall into. I eventually clued in that it was centred on one person at three different stages of his life (as an old man, then a young man, and lastly as a child). The best story is the young man, but the world of the old man was catching with its futuristic technology. I didn't like or really understand the ending, but I can appreciate it well enough as a starting point for this mans life.It is a strangely beautiful, and well made film. It combines a few genres and is an impressively multicultural production. The acting was fantastic, with a really talented cast. The main flaw is that the story is hard to follow and not that likeable.
I wouldn't recommend this to almost anyone. I would recommend it to those who truly enjoy questionable circumstances, appreciate unacceptable views, and often buys unpopular art.

Consequences hurt less than fate
I was looking for moody violence early one morning, and as my luck would have it I settled for Night in Paradise. With a slight art film vibe, it's all ride and die with no time for happy endings. It's about bad decisions, gang drama, and death. The ML and FL form a loyalty out of what seems like circumstance, but it is actually love. A sweet but so sad existential crisis triggering type of love. I found myself disapproving but not regretful of their choices. It is rare to have a movie that isn't perfect feel so perfect anyway in spite of random flaws. Bonus points, as it follows through with its appropriately bloody conclusion. Was this review helpful to you?
