I really thought this was very well done. A serious Japanese BL well acted and well produced even if the story is one we’ve seen before.

Interestingly, I think the other story that could be interesting is the High School President. He seems to have a strong moral compass, but the game was reset without focusing on what it meant to have him as the sould survivor. It's clear he was oblivious to the bullying, but the parents don't seem to offer a hall pass for ignorance so to speak.

Yup. I tell my non-MDL friends that "I gotta go watch my violent Korean show, I think self-immolation in the gym is tonights episode. Just so you don't think I'm totally depraved, I balanced with "When I Fly to You" before "Night Has Come" (one of the most romantic TV series I've ever seen) and "Twinking Watermelon" -- a show that put the biggest smile on my face ever. I finally finished that one last week. So, don't file me away in the sicko-folder. And I got to hand it to you for sticking with it, despite its triggering features. Meanwhile...have a happy New Year. And I'll look forward to meeting with uou in the Weak Hero Class 2 MDL section sometime next year.

I loved it too. Then again I loved the series about the forced harvesting of organs as well. Bargain. Good theory. Somewhat predictable ending, but still enjoyable. The good news is, it would appear that given the popularity they’ll be a season two escape from Sim.

So who’s more sadistic than the students? The parents.! It appears that night will come in season 2 as well based on that rinse repeat ending. . Somewhat predictable end but I enjoyed the story. And I’ll be back to see how they escape from the sim.

The neutered snoozefest is aptly put. Ha ha. I think the show is brought down by the weak bottom. Not the character, the actor. OK the character too. Though I have no idea if the actors a bottom,, I wouldn’t care one way the other if you know what I mean, . And it’s not because he’s a bottom. The boy just can’t act And that “I am pit babes. Boy” line is obviously written by some pederast on the writing staff OK with that out-of-the-way It’s actually a pretty decent central mystery Here we are multiple episodes in and and I still can’t figure out why he and his brother have infiltrated the pit babe gang. Then again maybe neither can the writers. Because they’re starting to Snoozefest me too.

I’m o ly 3 eps into the Sign. They just got out of the police Academy. But so far I’m very impressed with a combination of budget, acting and story Plus, the main couple is cute.

My Love Mixup is one of my favorite Japanese, BL of all time as is Cherry magic Japanese version Even though I’ve always liked Tay and New , for some reason I can’t bring myself to watch it because of my love for the original …..probably not fair . I just don’t need a another version of an already perfectly told story

I know I’m rambling. Apparently that’s what I do on MDL. I think it was you who busted me for that But you’re in for a treat for last twilight. Not to get your adrenaline rush fix. But for a really well written story, as well acted for my money as any BL out of Thailand, Moonlight chicken and I Told Sunset level acting. One of the best of the year if not the best Now it could pull a bad buddy And after five episodes of greatness to turn into acute and cuddle fest with no more plot So just remember I can leave out for the first five episodes I haven’t seen Linger because I’m struggling to find it in an uncut form . But until I do, so far I think this one, the eighth sense Moonlight, and Love Class 2 are my other Top BLs Ok. Only friends too. Clearly, I like Sexual train wreck shows I’m sure I’m forgetting something. I didn’t see the time travel show because I’m still pissed at him for being homophobic I know I shouldn’t let my bias get in the way of Art OK I’m making your eyes bleed. So I’ll peace out.

Playboy the Series is Amber. And I love this horrible sweet mess of a show. And I love Last Twilight for balance

Perhaps Playboyy is meant as scathing satirical commentary on the overuse of skinship and on the illusion that some BL shows foster in fan service. Actors hired for a role forced to act flirty in order to imply they are in a real loving relationship as a marketing strategy Not much different than sex workers feigning love staring clients in their eyes in order coax out more cash. BL shows are whispering in fans ears. “I’ll just need more money”.

I mean if the most edgy NC scenes were a ten up to this point (maybe Kinnporsche) ) this show scaled it up to a thousand
by comparison.

But I’m hooked. You could not keep me away from this trainwreck. And you gotta admit the central mysteriy actually pretty good. Maybe just don’t promote the intern to editor as fast next time

How funny. The rating on the show as I write this is appropriately 6.9 New drinking game. Take a shot. Every time they invoke the Playboyy moral code. Permission to put my lips on your pelvis .permission to penetrate. Permission to kiss you before I shave your genitals, Permission to hold a lighter flame near your throat. etc. permission to enter into a loving monogamous transactional relationship.

You won’t get as drunk as last weeks package grab game. But you might get a sugar daddy rush.

If you’re into the K-Pocalypse drama category. (My word for the Squid Game , All of Us. are Dead , Weak Hero Class, Duty After School dystopian type shows) there’s a good one running now called Night Has Come—about as brutal and violent as any show I’ve seen so be warned. High school kids forced to play a game to the death

Or if you want a superbly told and brilliantly acted romance that just happens to be between two boys check out Last Twilight

I wouldn’t dream of randomly recommending shows like that normally, but I know you aren’t going to spit snark in my face for being far away from your taste You’ll just low key tell me like it is.

Ha ha ha It’s an interesting story with an engaging central mystery but not for everyone. If you decide to watch I hope you enjoy it

So. I’m I’m trying to figure out a name for a category for Korean dystopia shows like Night Has Come, Squid Game, All of Us Are Dead Duty After School , Burnin, Happinessetc. K-Dramageddon, Dys-trope-Ian, K-Pocalyptic, KoreAnimation, KoreEndoftheworld it’s just not coming But I hope they make more of these epic relentlessly violent shows because most of are really well thought out, interesting stories exploring what happen when people are pushed to the absolute edge. My favorite of all is the artfully sick and twisted series Bargain. It’s a spoiler even to describe it. But Night Has Come is really well done for what it is. And one of the male leads who plays the Class President is a hell of a good young actor. He stands out because he rarely goes over the top with his portrayal. He keeps it subtle. Soft spoken yet with star power I’m a really big fan of this kidstalent And I really hope he does well in his career as a young actor. I will watch shows he’s cast in

This one doesn’t just bleed, it cracks skulls , pierces flesh and snaps limbs I think teeth have been spared. The show has empathy for dental work.

Well said. Tale of a Thousand Stars and I Told Sunset About You are two others that come to mind. Then there’s ones that try but don’t quite make it, like Absolute Zero. “A”for effort but they took a script that was full of plot holes, and no matter how earnestly the actors tried to portray the complex love story, those moments were not earned. The characters actions ended up being illogical and it was difficult for us to buy in But Last Twighlight takes a story that’s not exactly original (overcoming a disability and finding love) but makes us feels like its breaking new ground because the story is so honest and authentically portrayed. . And Jimmy and Sea are the best actors working in the BL industry right now. That doesn’t hurt
