scriptwriter hinting that S2 might air during the season when the peonies flower which is April/May
it wouldn't be farfetched. given how it affected pre-orders for peony and tourism, there could be some additional pressure from officials from those provinces lol if s2 is released, they'd get a lot of tourists viewing peonies (probably other places would have peony viewing events as well).
Can anybody please explain a little bit the political issues. I think my misunderstanding is related to translation…
The emperor is young. He is Mr. Third. His older brother is the King/Prince of Ning. King/Prince of Ning being older is more established with a lot of connections and the military to boot. However, he is corrupt. Because of this, the emperor needs to control him and reduce his influence by removing King of Ning's people who are in power. To do this, he works with Jiang Chang Yang who pretends to be corrupt so that he can get close to King of Ning and know his moves and his network. Jiang Chang Yang and the emperor are childhood friends and both were students of Master Wu who is very upright and was a big influence to both of them.
As someone (i forgot who) earlier here explained, in ancient China, there is only one Emperor while the Kings (Wang) are usually brothers/relatives who lord over a certain part of the empire. It's not like European aristocracy with one King. The translations alternate using King and Prince.
Loving the actress but hate the character of Sheng Yi. Is this really the reality of toxic relationship? Trusting…
This is the reality for many domestic violence victims. Also, she did not love Wang Qing but with her family telling her that he wouldn't accept her back and planning to marry her off again to an old man and her dreaming of being married, she allowed herself to be coaxed back by Wang Qing. He was being very sweet and saying all the right things. Many abusers do that and unfortunately in real life many dv victims go back to their abusive husbands.
I don't understand why everyone is blaming mudan for youzhen suffering, She was responsible for her own suffering,…
Mudan is from a lowly merchant family trying to marry up turned divorcee turned slave... how dare she come out unscathed every time (clutches pearls) 😹 she's an "easy" target for blame instead of blaming oneself. They are simple minded, class discriminating fools.
JCY will definitely take advantage of this fake marriage to be closer to MD even if he won't directly tell her his feelings. He even wanted to kneel beside MD at the temple to show his respects to her dead mother (as husbands would) but she won't let him. He looked disappointed standing outside the temple hall hahaha
Regarding Liu Chang: I see the birth of a villain lol
I think before he wanted to gain achievements solely by his own merits like a lone wolf (how naive lols) but now he would be willing to use Prince Ning's connections to get what he wants. Mudan commented that his design for the waterways was good, so he must be smart. This change will turn him into someone who schemes behind the scenes more aligned with how his character is in the novel. This was a good way to show that ruthlessness isn't innate in LC but he was backed to a corner coupled with his self-righteous attitude turns him into such a villain. That said, I don't empathize with such villains going "you made me do this" like it wasn't their choice hahaha
Why did the princess behave like that? I know she explained her ex marriage took away her innocence but I thought…
Nothing as horrid as what the princess went thru in The Double. Youzhen was married off to another powerful family outside Chang'an for alliance and lost her virginity and probably a lot of familial scheming on her ex-hubby's household. Still harboring feelings for LC, he was her TOTGA. So when her hubby died, she thought she could go back and be with LC. And she's a spoiled brat.
Chuanyu told the girls outside the real story but they are not allowed to tell anyone. If JCY told MD the truth, she most likely will reject it and tell him to save it for his real wife in the future.
He even gave her the comb his mother left him for his future wife. Mudan, Mudan... now that you reached your goals can you finally have space in your heart for romance?
I know we can't wait for Part 2 to air, but there are several factors to consider: - Period between seasons rule : listed under different names could be a loophole - Satellite TV schedule : right now Part 1 is still airing. TV schedules are usually booked in advance so either they already blocked off when to air Part 2 or move around their planned dramas to give way.
It feels like the satellite tv release would be the clincher. It's doing well there tv ratings-wise, so I'm sure they also want to air the next part soon. But they might have other contractual obligations they need to fulfill in terms of broadcast. At the end of the day, cdrama caters to the chinese market first and foremost and us international viewers are secondary thoughts hahahuhu they don't need us for billions of viewership lols
