Cha Jiyoon (Park Jihyun) is drop-dead gorgeous, and I love that the Kang Siwoo (Seo Inguk) comes across as very straightforward, but low-key a loser (the way he sprinted out of the grocery store to laugh killed me lmaoo). It's very obvious that he wants her, and he's not subtle about it.
She’s also interested, but because of her ambiguous ending with her ex, she has baggage when it comes to potential relationships. In my opinion, I really don't think the ex storyline will really be a problem because anyone who gets ghosted when they're so deeply in love will have baggage and unresolved feelings. I think instead of seeing it as a flaw in the story, people should understand it's a part of the character's journey.
I also like that the ML is a divorcee and despite what FL believed in Ep 1, I think he has fully moved on. He just felt awkward about giving the gift money to his ex's wedding. This is a story about mature people in their 30s, so I love that they've had previous relationships and wounds, that they also have established routines and lives which they will let each other into as they fall for each other more and more.
They look really good together too. When he showed up to drink with her in casual clothes and his hair down, and she was like "was he always this tall?" I really felt her. It's interesting how she seems softer/bubbly at work and more straightforward in her daily life while for him it's the opposite (which can speak to how men and women are expected to act like in the work place).
I cried. I've never cried over a kissing scene my entire life, the tension this whole episode was so well done. Both of them are so brave, like there's literal tears streaming down my face typing this
right because when me and my homie are playing around he rubs his sweat all over me with his hands all over my body and when checking if I have a fever we rub our chests together naked with everywhere except our faces touching...righttt
Halfway through the ep: Tanrak my babyyy he's so cute the way he became so happy when Barth asked him for permission to be in the play 😫 Also I love that they acknowledged that they both know and are aware that the other knows that they know without explicitly having to talk about it, like they just have a mutual unspoken understanding

I actually love the detail about Duang calling Qin's parents Mom and Dad since day one. It just made "This is all it takes, Mom" hurt more because he's a part of their family 💔
When Qin called for Duang and collapsed on the ground, i don't think i've ever cried this much over a show. "papa, mama....I just want to be a part of this family" i feel sick
A lot of you are weird af to Lee Yeon in this comment section. She looks so good in this drama, but apparently if a woman isn't hyper feminine in a kdrama, she's like a man.

No media is ever perfect and everyone consumes it with completely different perspectives, so i don't understand why people keep shoving their opinions down the opposing sides throats instead of just having a peaceful discussion or conversing with like-minded people.
I like that he was upfront and said "i want to marry for love" and Huijoo is someone who's never been loved or even been shown compassion by anyone close to her, so she'll have to be vulnerable in order to make this work.
Mid-Ep 1 thoughts: The chemistry between them when they were shown in school was captivating. I went from “enjoyable so far” to “WAIT. I’m SAT.”
I appreciate how seamlessly they blended the Joseon style and influence with modern-day South Korea. It’s well-executed and adds a unique flavor to the drama. The intricate details, such as the school for the nobility, the costumes, and the differences in communication between royalty and “commoners,” are all well-done. I’m thoroughly impressed with how they’ve handled it so far. Also i like that they've added the the more negative side of monarchy/nobility with how Huiju is looked down on for being an illegitimate child born out of “wedlock,” while simultaneously balancing that it’s a modern drama with other factors.
Also, it actually pains me to see Byeon Wooseok characters in distress. Prince Yi An appears melancholic due to his position in life, and Byeon Wooseok’s portrayal of depressed characters makes them seem borderline su*cidal every time.
