Kdrama version of "Friends"

This series is not for beginner I guess. I guess you need to watch at least 10 Kdramas to like this.

Watching the drama wanting you to have a friend like them. Oddly I can say it is Kdrama version of "Friends"; they are not really comparable however I can relate between Chandler to Lee Ik Jun, Monica to Chae Song Hwa, Ross to Kim Ju wan ; Rachel to Lee Ik Soon; and phoebe to "Shu Min Ha"

Takeaway is this series make you laugh, make you cry, and the same time warm your heart.

Note: you must watch prequel to enjoy this drama!

Underrated action drama in 2021

I dropped "The Veil" with the same genre, simply because it is reusing the same plot and character of spy genre, most annoying part however to reuse the same scene over and over again (scene of the ML partner died). it is worst-lazy-possible-way to make a filler.

I compared to The Veil because this drama deserve better rating.

Story is solid; since it is an adaption from BBC series so I kind of expect that.

Acting is overall good. Oscar go to the main villain; the guy is genius potraying the character with more expression but lesser line. Silver medal goes to female lead, I watched few of her works. I don't really like all of them but impressed with her role in "Miracle that we met", sit her nice on role of a-hot-mother-in-her-prime.

Character. For series character development is more important than the story it self, and female lead fit the bill.
It is enough characters of pure evil, butt licking, betrayer, change of side, is a must-twist-ingredient for this genre;

That Time I Got Reincarnated As An Engineer

Choi Ban Seok (CBS) is reincarnated as an ordinary person who works as an ordinary hardware developer in the R&D department of a dungeon called Hanmyung Electronics. He's been there for 23 years, clearing out a menial slime-level office monster.

Suddenly, he was transported to another world, where he encountered a new level of monster, Han Se Kwon (HSK). He was defeated and transferred to the lower level of the dungeon HR department, where he met Dang Ja Yeong (DJY), a frenemy HR manager (DJY). She is a hangman, and her main job is to cut off the heads of employees in the dungeon; the fewer the headcount, the more successful she becomes.

The story continues with CBS and his veteran adventurer friends battling monster bosses to clear levels in the dungeon; not to become the top adventurer, but simply to survive. Finally, he led an adventure group with some of his coworkers from the dungeon.

The story is realistic for an office drama, and the characters are similar to the coworkers and bosses I had. My brain, on the other hand, couldn't stop comparing it to isekai fantasy anime, which usually has a story about clearing dungeons to level up.

The drama crew is very talented at immersing you in the office situation and challenges, especially if you have worked with office politics before. Every time CBS is cornered by coworkers or bosses, you will become very emotional.

You must, however, be patient. It's a slow-burning drama, and it took me 5 episodes to become completely engrossed.

This review may contain spoilers

I watched this drama so you don't have to!

Fans, I apologize! I give it a 5 out of 10.

Is it just me, or do you think the casting and acting are the weakest links in this production?
I noticed the actors smiling in scenes where they shouldn't, so I'd like to point out that it also has the worst directing and editing. The director should request that the actors redo those scenes, or the editor should remove them. I patiently watched the first four episodes before moving on to the eighth. Continue to press the forward button for 10 seconds unconsciously.

The problem with the story is that, well, I don't like goblins. Maybe that's why I don't like this story.

Isn't it rather predictable? An unknown deity was killed off in a clumsy manner in an early episode because the scene was just a conversation, "Hey, I heard X was killed off." The sentence is obviously only meant to hint at what will happen to the main character in the final episode. However, it merits more than a sentence in a brief scene.

My main beef is with the male lead. He doesn't do a good job of portraying the deity's character. According to my understanding, he should be extremely arrogant, but I see him as a nice, quiet, average Joe from next door. He emits no God-like energy. I'll admit it.

Perhaps it stems from the characters' designs, which contain some flaws:
1. They are not supposed to show human emotions to their subjects, but they behave in a childish manner among themselves.
2. Is it possible that the characters of deity 1 and deity 2 are clones? Isn't it true that drama revolves around the various characters and their interactions? For example, the two male characters in Goblin, for example, have good chemistry. To be honest, the bromance in Goblin shines brighter than the love story between the male and female leads.
3. None of them have undergone any character development.
4. Bad writing It was the Makjang drama scene from the Sky Castle and the World of the Married parody, which was supposed to make me laugh but didn't.

Top 1 sci-fi all the time, Top 3 drama this year, Top 3 thriller this year (my-ranking)

Don't miss it if you're a sci-fi fan!
It's exciting for Thriller fans; it made me hold my pee to end the episode!

Love the story!
The story moves at the perfect pace, not too fast or too slow, introducing you to the characters, technology, and world of this drama. It all started in ML's lab, where he was transferring memory from one mouse to another. The experiment then abruptly shifted to a human trial brain copy paste process. From there, the story progresses to include more characters, more plot, a criminal investigation, and finally, his own family mystery. It's a perfect package for the thriller genre.

Love the idea!
In terms of science fiction, it is a far-fetched technology concept at the moment. It is possible, but not likely in the near future. However, the show introduces technology in a believable slow burn mode. Begin with a mouse trial, then move on to a human trial, where only a sliver of memory was transferred.

Love the casting!
I've had mixed feelings about veteran actor Lee Sun Kyun, but I like his performance in this role; in all dramas, he plays the same flat character, but for this role, he's perfect! Lee Yoo Yung is an excellent choice for the role of Mom, and some of the scarier scenes are convincing. Kudos to all of the supporting actors. The female cop is the most inexperienced actor in the cast, but she is still bearable.

Ask not what your country can do for you!

The main plot revolves around Ahn Joon Ho, a high school graduate who decided to join the military after being fired from a food delivery job. During his service, he discovered his talent while tracking down a deserter within a military department called D.P. with his sidekick, Han Ho Yul. It's similar to Sherlock-Watson stories in that each series features a new deserter to apprehend using detective skills. The difficulty level rises with each series, reaching a climax in the fifth and sixth episodes.
I enjoy character development as a delivery worker, a fresh-faced soldier, the recruitment process to the D.P. Department, finding a partner, and honing the skill to be a good yet the best hunting wolf.

As I live in Singapore, a republic that requires adult men to serve in the National Military Service, I found this story to be relatable. I did not serve in the military, but this culture is dear to my heart. You must understand how it feels to prepare yourself to give up two years of your youth for your country; it is an honorable but daunting responsibility to forego the opportunity to get a job, meet your girlfriend, or do anything else. It is both good and bad, but I hope the government will take full responsibility to ensure that bad incidents do not occur. Yes, we must recognize that it is impossible to control everything in order to achieve perfection, and that sh** happens in Singapore as well.

This series does an excellent job of elaborating on military service culture, particularly bullying culture, which is understandably a gray area in the military command system; it is yes sir culture. There are a thousand reasons to avoid military service, but imagine how desperate the situation is for the young man who did it regardless of the severe punishment he may face.

All of the main characters are fantastic, as are the actors who play them! I don't see any filler characters who are present but provide no support to the story. Jung Hae In is outstanding in this drama, and while I don't usually like his dramas, I decided to give it a shot because of its high rating. His performance as a nobody delivery part-timer to a private officer hero fits the character well.

Koo Kyo Hwan is a new face for me in my drama land universe, but I must commend him on his performance as a sidekick joker. Kim Sung Kyun and Son Seok Koo, who play supporting roles, add cohesive dynamics to the main duo.

A story of 3 working women who enjoy Soju as their beloved husband

We, An Soo He, Han Ji Yeon, and Jeng Eun Ji take you, So Ju , to be my husband, and I do promise and covenant, before God and these witnesses, to be your loving and faithful wife in plenty and in want, in joy and in sorrow, in sickness and in health, as long as we shall live.

After the holy matrimony, they drink and eat every day after returning from work and live happily ever after.
FL-1 An Soo Hee, is a reality show writer who works with the eccentric PD ML-1 Kang Buk Gu. Their relationship is the story's main plot, which is nothing new but refreshing.
FL-2 Han Ji Yeon is a stunningly beautiful, light-headed, and overly optimistic yoga instructor.
FL-3 Jung Eun Ji is a tomboyish youtuber with a darker background than the others.

The characters are very close to fictional-manga-like types, which are extremely rare in real life but still make logical sense. The score would be 7 out of 10, with 1 being a very realistic character, such as one in Misaeng, and 10 being a fantasy character, such as one in Goblin. This is to be expected given that the show is based on a Webtoon.

I like how the story alternates between past and present for character development.
The materials are not new, but they keep you going and keep you watching.
In most cases, I'll give a 7 out of 10. But because I am an anime fan, these stories and characters appeal to me. I give it a 9 out of 10.

Easily Top 5 on my Chinese Drama List

I don't need to explain too long here.
Story line as per synopsis, with perfect amount of plot twist keep us engaged and entertained through the series.

The beauty of this series is from emotion between main leads looks real and believable.
So it is good characters and good acting!

CGI is great! Fighting scenes are great too. Not too mention the fighting choreography is very detail although with CGI effect here and there. The CGI and fighting choreography are balance and compliment each other. It is not like two people throw punch, then the CGI light got fighting, without the people body move an inch.

New K-Drama genre: Dark-Sex-Comedy-Drama

I thought it was going to be a comedy but I was wrong. I giggled because the theme is about men-specific-issue; however I don't see any scene that funny.

Story is realistic with with enough spice of drama to jolt your emotion; but as a person you may relate with the main character and his situation at some point in your life.

A cool take away from drama to get happiness from what you got, opposite to get depressed from what other people got.
Cliché but true! I am not going to get richer than Elon Musk in my life time; but I am happy enough to get eat 3 meals a day, having sex with non-super-model partner; masturbate without main lead's issue, and lastly watch k-drama at my leisure time.
Know your limit; Put best effort to break it; whatever the outcome, enjoy the ride!

First crime drama made to My Top 5 K-Drama List

FYI, I am not into this genre but manage to get a spot on my current top 5 list on K-Drama.

Story:
Episode 1-15 will keep you engaged as good cliff-hanger at the end of episodes.
It is a Dexter Love Story, where a psychopath may have a chance to get a love story, with crafty twists from writer to keep you clicking next episodes on Netflix.
Episode 16 is a near perfect wrap-up as every character get a proper ending, however 1 full episode for a closure is too long, therefore you can expect some unnecessary scenes and dialog. And it is 9.5 point due to usage of amnesia, my-most-hated-k-drama-element. In my opinion, this element is unnecessary.

Character:
ML: Good character development, and like union got some layer which is uncovered layer by layer with fun twist and mystery here.
FL: Consistent character through the end, fantastic mother, lover, wife and a detective (priority in this order).
Supporting Male Lead, Reporter: a joker who put a comedy-salt in a horror-bowl.
Supporting Female Lead, The Sister: Typical character in K-drama, melancholy, undecisive, weak, hated.
Villains characters are also good. It is not a single villains from start to finish. Most of crime K-Drama will have one Lex Luthor, but in this drama got Joker, Penguin, Bane.
Overall they are development for each character which is a must for me, and they are complex enough to get explanation why they become who they are.

Acting: Above average, I can't spot any bad acting in this series. The Main lead suprisingly is good (had a doubt with his acting on previous drama I dropped - Scarlet Heart something i guess).

Music: Honestly i don't pay attention to any music. So it will follow story's score.

Re-watch: I don't like to waste time on re-watch. So it will follow story's score.

Drama that Lost in Fantasy, Story, Characters

Story: Typical Zero to Hero, Save the world, lacking uniqueness for me to remember.
it is average plot about evil sword treasure (i am not too sure why sword can be the main evil here) destroyed the world then sealed by past heroes (naruto-ish).

Although ML start with no-power and cursed with no-ability to horn any divine skill.
In Eps 1 then it is revealed, ML is destined to have stone that could give him over-power-skill-etc and i guess (as i dropped the series) then begin a journey to hone its power. Honestly i don't like this kind of ML get the power from treasure. I don't like Lead who is given power by someone/something.

It is really typical story, nothing special.

Characters: Too fast introduction thus no connection.
Lacking of introductions, especially on main leads. The ML just meh, he is supposed to be smart and fast learner, as he is good at physical skill although he is blind and can't move forward with spiritual skill, similar with Ever Night ML.
From introduction to breakthrough of enable him to learn spiritual skill is too fast (only one episode) therefore i am not attached with his character at all.
Same issue with FL and Main supporting casts.

Actors: Below average actors to play bad characters. Or perhaps the characters will be not bad if the actors do a decent job?
ML: bad, no distinctive personality. Like average joe next door character an become a main lead. Is he smart? I don't know. Righteous? Yes but not showing. Hardworking? Maybe.
FL: average, well she is spoiled brat with talent, break the rule here and there, nosy with other people business.
FL Antagonist: her acting is bad. She is bad an try to look nice, however why everyone immediately know her ambiguous character. She is not smart enough to play someone try to hide her evil side.
ML Antagonist: Bad acting. Not worth to explain

Music:
I don't pay attention too much on music, so i give it 8.

I WATCHED 4 EPISODES, SO YOU DON'T HAVE TO!

You can say CGI doesn't matter as long as the story good.
No you are wrong. The CGI hurts my eyes! If I learn 3D animation my self, I believe I could create better CGI :)
I notice bad CGI from first episode, but I would like to give second chance as the story is quite unique.

Second issue with this series is the Male Lead character get his brain grow in reverse like Benjamin Button. The Male Lead first appearance as 20 years old something, a bit childish but mature enough to hold 2 jobs as con-magician-artist and inn-butler.
2 episodes later, the character turned into a 5 years old boy in an adult body!

Main story is still not clear at this point. What is the mission? Who are the villains? What need to be done?
