They didn't show most of his past, may b they wanted to show in S2. only clues we got is Yang Chun who said now I wanted to adopt u as my son , means may b he has rescued ml n trained him after his father got killed, we can see a glimpse of it young ml crying inside the house as his father is fighting outside the house. Now it's completely open we can say ml father may b general or head guard even there is a chance he is son of a king's concubine raised by anothe person whom ml lead calls him father, the soldiers waiting outside of the house may b trying to kill young ml as he may b threat to crown prince, so many possibilities.....

Exactly it's frustrating not really really romantic, not even close, may b in upcoming eps we can see their pure romance(fl completely forgetting abt sml's love & her jealousy )

Just re-watch 15 min of ep 1, u will understand everything i mentioned. The dress ml wore in the poster is the same dress he is wearing in ep1 standing near the beach.

Yeah if the king doesn't think abt his people then he is a bad, coward king ..... but the king in this drama wanted to go out of the fortress but ministers r not agreeing n he is also not healthy, present u can call him coward but not a bad king, in upcoming eps we can get clear idea abt him.

If a king dies then it's the end for that country normal people doesn't matter, I too feel emotional in dramas but it doesn't work in reality.

But just like ml said fl still can't get over taken man (sml), even in ep 7 preview when sml said I'm going to propose to eun ae, see fl expression 😑 my man doing everything to protect her rather than king, still she can't get over sml. intial eps I'm ok but not now it's very big 👎 in romantic parts....

1. The person from mental asylum shown in ep1 may b Ryang Eum.
2. Higher persons who asked to take care of ryang eum may b eun ae or Yeon Jun.
3. Ml standing near the beach, if we observe properly here he wore new white clothes may b something happened at his marriage even there is a chance fl died at this incident we can see ml saying " Do u hear it ? It's the sound of flowers " while seeing the sky.
4. The army standing near the beach trying to attack ml, looklike they're from joseon, may b king send them to kill ml , nowonder king wanted to erase ml information, it's going to b brutal ending.....

I think the reason ml always hates king is may b he ordered /involved in his father's death.
