I’ve completed this. I enjoyed it a lot especially the first half. I think the romantic drama kinda messed up…
A lot of what was shown in the drama is very realistic. I had conversations with people on YouTube who could relate to Xiao ju's experience with first love and unrequited love (i was not able to move on from mine for 10 years lol I wish I had grown up sooner) but anyway, I also wish we could've gotten more of them as a couple. The only remedy to this will be if HYX and WRC are casted as a lead couple again in a sweet and romantic drama with lots of love scenes. Nothing less will satisfy me lol.
The last episode was indeed rushed (but it was so beautiful that i wanted to enjoy it more). I love ep 35 more…
That was the worst!!! The bts for those parts were so cute. I wish we had see them in character. Even though I love the skating scenes to bits, I wish they had shown the entire amusement park date. I feel robbed:"( I can't get enough of this couple, seriously

You're right. A drunk conversation would've been better than anything. I think because they had to cut it down from 40 episodes to 36 episodes (which I'm glad they did,36 episodes is already pretty long) , the writers took the lazy route out. I wish they had instead cut down on the dream sequence and given us a real conversation. I am thinking of writing a fan fiction of how that conversation should have been written lol.
I kept thinking about the drama while I was working must be because I feel so wronged of all the dragging and…
I keep thinking about this drama while I am at work too. I think this drama really had that hooking and addictive quality which is absent in most chinese dramas. The ending did leave something to be desired for but I'm not overly mad because they were so close throughout the drama. I have known people like that irl, people who are more than friends but not exactly a couple. So I could see them in the drama. And I was waiting for them to kiss throughout the drama and those scenes were so good!
She is the queen of transformation, I hope we get to see that quality again. This year, mostly her contemporary…
Yes, her big eyes and lovely smile make her look naturally cute. I see many chinese actresses resorting to excessive pouting and high pitched baby voice to act 'cute' but what I like about HYX is that she doesn't need all those things. She is just naturally cute. I just finished watching her A River Runs Through It and it's the best drama and best couple of 2021 for me. I still can't move on from that drama and couple. You should check that one out too, highly recommend.
Wow, wow, wow.. I finally find out a review that makes my heart happy . I seriously tired of seeing people can't…
I have seen that media is saturated with examples of boys getting friendzoned (especially in our country) so most people sympathise with boys getting friendzoned. Very few examples in media show girls getting friendzoned and we see that in this drama. But people are not sympathetic towards that and find it annoying, the double standards are astonishing to me lol.
Such a well written review, I agree with most of what you said and we generally felt the same, like we discussed…
Thank you! I forgot to write about the styling, I might go back and edit it in. But HYX looks absolutely adorable in this drama. Her styling in the later half makes her look so cute. I have said this somewhere before that HYX made xxj's character so warm, sweet and relatable that I 100% believe how much in love LSY is with her. I will definitely be checking out WWWY, just not yet. I mostly watch historical dramas (as I said, this was my first chinese youth drama, although I've watched many korean ones) and I had started Love Like White Jade which I am planning to revisit. In that, the FL and SML of WWWY (Wan Peng and Gala Zhang) play the lead couple and I am kind of in the frame of mind of shipping them right now. But i will definitely check it out some time in the future because I love 90s nostalgia.
pros:- easy storyline, nice and fast paced in the last 10 episodes. - cute fluffy moments between the leads- leads…
I am having withdrawal fron HYX's latest drama, A River Runs Through It, I can't move on from that couple at all yet. I was the same last year, I couldn't move on from HYX-ZYC YaoYue CP after the Sleepless Princess for months. If this works for withdrawals and has HYX in it, I might just check it out before rewatching ARRTI.
I hv watched this drama 2x and now i hv problem to move on. I tried watching other dramas but drop after a few…
I wanted to watch another drama to sort of remove the hangover of ARRTI before marathoning through all the episodes from the beginning to see how the story unfolds when you binge it. But I'm just not able to get into another drama, my mind is still full of ARRTI. I want to watch from the beginning again but I want to approach it with a fresh mind. I need another drama for pallette cleansing but ugh I'm not able to let go of this drama yet. I just watch their bts and couple edits the whole day.
He's not only working with Yalkun Merxat for the second time but also Yang Zhi Wen. They've (ZYC and YZW) also worked together in Mirror Twin Cities which has been wrapped for quite some time.
I was first going to check out this drama solely for Ye Sheng Jia and Yang Zhi Wen because their chemistry is just amazing. But then I watched The Sleepless Princess and I got even more excited. One of my favorite couples plus Zheng Ye Cheng, omg I can't wait for this drama.
It's not a chinese novel but The Prize by Julie Garwood can make for an excellent chinese adaptation. The storyline and characters are really interesting and it has enough similarities that it can be comfortably adapted with the ancient chinese culture.
I feel the same way as you. Throughout the drama, they kept on giving me couple vibes. And what's interesting…
I think what really made me sit up and take notice of this unique caring vibe that Xiaoju had towards Shiyi was when she gave him that classical music tape. In the story, she was really struggling with her unrequited love at the time. What's more,it was something LSY had said in passing, lying to her to hide the true extent of his disease. Yet she not only remembered to ask his preference (even he forgot he'd said that,he asked her why she was asking that suddenly)but also got him the tape before one of the most painful moments of defeat in her life. She never forgot to take care of him even with all the mess going on in her personal life. And you're right. Xiaoju never annoyed me, I actually admired how sweet and brave she was with the whole CL and Lin you relationship. She went on with her song, even though she broke down crying. She also helped CL to buy gifts for her and set up his confession surprise (helping your crush to confess to his crush, omg that would've flattened me no joke). She never let her feelings compromise her friendship with CL or LY. I admired that trait about her tbh.
