If I'm right, then most of the down vote is because they couldn't capture the essense of the original work. When making a remate, the goal is to make it better than the previous one. But they kinda changed the characters stories.
Big fan of all the actors especially JCW and HSH; that's why I watched it. But the concept was all over the place. While watching it I was like, "What? Why? What does that have to do with anything? Where did that come from?" Basically I was asking "Why!?" most of the time.

I had watched the original work a long time ago. Didn't like that much. But this drama.... is worse than that so; it's disapointing :]
Seems like the production hired all the good actors just to make it releaseable and to conceal the bad remake story like.

It's a remake of korean original story.

As we r not writers, we won't know, the writer and director will. Expose to Zhao Xing Tang personally.

1) I'm not ok for her to cheat. Also, their marriage was for the convenience for the families. She was supposed to mary her cousin.

2) He didn't know about the cheating untill 3 days prior the birthday. He was thinking of divorcing her based on her money laundering schemes. The affair gave him more advantage for divorcing.

3) They hate each other from when they were young. I understand why she hates him, but I couldn't understand why he hates her. That's why I called him Petty.

4) Her cousin groomed her and used her for the Zhou and Lin families' money. She can't read, so he scammed her.

5) He joined the military and left home. Whereas she had to live in an unfamilier place for 7 years. As a man, if you are married to someone, you should at least be understanding for why she is acting like that and etc. But he didn't wanna find out. He just thought that she is a zhou, she is evil. Even after returning home after 6 years, he wasn't mature. Still had childish anger. They didn't even exchange letters. He is petty for that too.

6) From what I have gathered, she was not loved by her parents properly. Even her mom made her get married to a family whose only intention was to survive (made the Shen family die alone). An unfamiliar family for a rushed marriage. A proud girl like Zhao Xing Tang would never oblige to that, and she never did. At that time a maid is like a cattle, that could be bought and sold and do anything they wanted. She treated the maids like she was tought to treat.

7) As for her being evil for treating the maids like that, she only acted like that to Lin family's maids. Her own maids are like sisters and aunts to her. She even pleaded for her right-hand maid, kneeling down. Not only because she could read, but also because they grew up together like sisters. Besides, have you seen her behaviour towards her stupid maid and nanny?

8) She could have fake died. If only they had talked and communicated, she could have had an opportunity to live somewhere else and start fresh. Judging by their situation, they both had the same goal. They never talked it out.

9) He was happily married and was kinda excited to spend his wedding night with Zhao Xing Tang, but when she coldly refused and sent him away, he became sad, and his facial expression changed. What could be the cause of his sudden change? What should I assume??👀

10) Again mentioning, he got to know about the affair 3 days prior to the birthday party. He found out while investigating the proof of her asset-stealing schemes.

He is petty for hating her from when they were young and still does. tbh, he couldn't care less about the affair. That just gave him the opportunity to divorce more dramatically. Understandable. She could have fake died if only they didn't hate each other. She hates him because her family gave her away for their own advantage also, she was in love with her cousin, and they were supposed to marry.
He hates her because of how cold she is (she should be imo) and her her family took advantage of his family (I think that was the deal between them to stay alive)

I agree. He could have given her enough money and sent her away. Also her cousin was taking advantage of her for all those years. He could have said "this is enough for us to run away and start anew" But he kept encouraging her of stealing and said they needed more. She couldn't read soshe had no idea how much he hid from her.
Instead of exposing her, the husband should have exposed the scum bag. So many scenarios and he chose this one.

He started to hate her from their wedding night. He hates that he had to sleep in a cold room without any wife or lover. People like you will make a mountain out of a molehill and let their imagination run wild. I commented what I saw.

So, he hates his wife because she refused to be intimate with him. They literally bought her at the price of their lives. She was literally sold by her family. (To me Forced marriage by the family is like selling and I'll die on this hill).
The zhou family thought they will use Lin Jin Qi, but he never gave them the chance. He joined the military to avoid being used. Where as Zhao Xing Tang had to suffer for years. If he had tried and had been a slighest bit kind and understanding towards her, they could have been a power couple. But unfortunately the drama is about a betrayed heiress who gets back everything that was hers.

Also he could have gotten divorced without humuliating her and causing all those scene. But, this is a drama so... Although this proves, all bungalows and no stairs.

Lin Jin Qi is the pettiest character I've ever come across. All those hate for what? Not being able to get into her pants? Disgusting shit....

Does she really have to marry and love him?
