So like, this theory of the current Chi Wen being actually the orange fox Ji Ling (and has Yuan Xizai's face) that the real Chi Wen saved is quite the popular theory and the one that made sense among all guesses abt his true identity.
However, I've read another theory that also, actually ā make sense too. The recent ep showed that the real Chi Wen was looking for a vessel and smth. I saw someone said that when the orange fox took Xizai's appearance, YWH forcefully let him eat theāwas it the dragon's bone marrow? My brainy forgot but something like that and after that, he became a perfect vessel for the real Chi Wen.
So like it's possible that the current Chi Wen is still the real Chi Wen residing in a different body (must be also the reason why he was shocked that the dragon deity power from WZQ did not go back to him), and might also be possible that the Ji Ling that LWY met back then was already Chi Wen using JL 's body.
