So I just got back from shopping and spent some time scrolling through the comments, and I keep seeing people saying that LWY barely has any screen time compared to the other three—that she feels underdeveloped, almost like a side character.

But honestly, there’s really no need to worry. We still have 11 episodes left, and a huge portion of the scenes from JJY and TJR’s trailer haven’t even aired yet—probably more than 80%. Right now, the story is clearly focusing on unfolding WSG’s character, his relationship with WWY, WWY’s personal growth, and JL’s inner struggles.

With 11 episodes to go, it actually feels like the narrative is about to shift toward LWY and JL. LWY, especially, hasn’t been fully revealed yet—there’s still so much to unpack about her. People say WSG, JL, and WWY are mysterious, but have we been watching the same drama? LWY is easily the most enigmatic of them all. There have been so many hints and subtle lines suggesting she’s far more than just the youngest nine-tailed fox—she might even play a crucial role in defeating JY, despite that fate supposedly belonging to WSG.

So really, there’s plenty of time left to address the “lack” of screen time people are worried about. And saying LWY has no character doesn’t sit right either. All four leads have equal billing, which means equal importance. The other three are already being explored in depth—but LWY’s story is still being kept under wraps. It’s too early to jump to conclusions.

To be honest, it was JJY who got me into C-dramas back in 2020 through Blooms in Ruyi Pavilion. But I’m not worried about her screen time at all—I’m sure her moment will come. For now, let’s just enjoy the ride together. It’s been a while since a xianxia/wuxia drama had me this hooked day and night. Peace hehe ✨

P/S: Despite the said "screen time", the drama imo is progressing very well. Ep 18 shows that the plot is finally plotting ✌🏻

Ehmm no wonder ... even in my opinion in episode 18, her character still fits her name.. but here she also starts…
Yes ! I don't know if you read everything. But it not about that she have no development. Her development is subtle. At this point, she still doesn't know how or why she was created! Her reality is slowly coming apart.

A character that literally doesn't have a "self". She is doing exactly that she ALWAY reacting.

That why in the trailer she say the line of "Just this once I want to live as myself"

Breaking away from why she was created, a being that doesn't have a self choosing to live for what they want.

Her character’s name and meaning "don't exist" but that doesn’t mean her buildup should ignore her…
We still has 11 eps to see her 'growth'. I 'm not a fan of anyone in this drama I just watch for the plot and arts and from what I can see the lu wuyi character is created like that. So many times even nuwa implied that she is too young.

For me she's quite a timid character that does not dare to make decision. In ep 18 she finally decided to lie to nuwa and did not tell her about wu wangyan. That's already a big decision moment. And she tell wu wangyan that she kept her secret. She was asking for validation because she's still afraid of her decision. I know her character will be force to make big decision towards the end.

Idk why ju jingyi decided to take this role if she know her fans not gonna like it. But i think this character suits her and her acting is good. The problem is just the lu wuyi character is played by someone popular.

This drama has equal screen time. Obviously they cannot take 20 minutes to Wu² then another 20 to JiLu in each and every episode.
They will all have different screen time, some may have more screen time in two episodes, then some in another two episodes. And that does make sense actually.

And regarding the character depth, we're 18 episodes out of 29, there are 4 equal leads. If they managed to write deeper about three leads in just 18 episodes, you don't think then can do that with one in the coming 11 episodes?
There are lots of things that needs to be uncovered still, and the villain is still playing around them. A villain that might be connected to Lu Wuyi.

Why are we acting like it's already the end?? Let's not start a lot of negativity please. We were wonderful and healthy in these past days.😌

Demanding more screen time for your fav only makes sense if the story is being wasted on filler but it’s not. Screen time here is clearly tied to narrative function: plot progression, pacing, and character arcs. Shifting it just for bias would weaken the narrative, not improve it.

So what matters more: good storytelling or just seeing your favorite on screen?
