The ones that impress me means they get a chance for me to check their stuff out, even if it may not usually be my genre. They have unique ideas and a sense of responsibility. It's the same for actors. But, of course, we know it's not always a home run. There's many factors in making a drama, but at least I am already acquainted with their style and know what to expect.

This director is on my 💩 list. Currently, there's only 2 others, but there's no need to get into that aggravation.

They were childhood friends but he was away for 2 years. Those are development years where personalities mature. He didn't know her that well yet because he still viewed her as a young kid. A 4 year difference is huge when you are 18 and 22.

Also, he woke up disoriented with brain fog. Father Jian wasn't direct enough about the evidence. He just showed off a huge wad of cash. He's easily misinterpreted. Maybe he shouldn't have drugged him so that he was more cleared headed. Must have been a massive hangover.

Again reverse situation, if she woke up drugged and on a marriage bed, would she say, "oh, I know you had nothing to do with it, let's get married" to a guy she just recently seen again after 2 years?

If you would do that, great, you have a lot more trust in people than I do. I am not that romantic.

If the drama is well filmed, it makes me remember them. Li Mo (Remembrance of Things Past, Fake It Til You Make it), Cat Tree (When I Fly To You), Cheng Hao (The Embers), Huang Ying Xing (We Go Fast on Trust), Lx Xing (The First Shot) are all young directors who I think have potential and I look forward to their work. Lou Jian is older, but he's very open minded to new ideas and is meticulous. The director for Love Between Fairy and Devil was also excellent.

The inverse is true too. If a project is terribly filmed, I will avoid that director from now on.

I hope I didn't imply that The Imperial Coroner was the only such drama without toxicity. I only mentioned it because you talked about it before and it's the only one I knew that we both watched. Director Lou Jian recently mentioned that he finished re-editing it. I really enjoy his work. Heroes with Qin Jun Jie was excellent.

Phew. I don't want to watch any of these SMLs. Can't dramas be like The Imperial Coroner where there's no toxicity with the relationships and friendships? It's such a conscientious drama and I really look forward to part 2

Helping out Prince Rui? When was the last time he had a scene with him discussing political matters? He left his post and his dad had to smooth things over. They said he was with the Prince, but do we see it? For all I know, they could be discussing the weather or Ming Shu's favorite foods offscreen.

I think it may be best to agree to disagree on SML. I see him as completely unnecessary to the story now. Wingman Ying can perform all his roles. SML's presence drags the story and I don't enjoy watching him. But I appreciate that you and others do.

I don't think I was trying to say he's perfect, and sorry if I came off that way. I agree that it's really not that deep.

Back tracking. Ep 29. I found the scene sensual in the sense that he rather die if she's not cure. The urgency. He was completely focused on getting rid of the poison, and she had complete trust in him and cared more about his safety. Holding his hand was full of love and appreciation.
