I agree with you. But also think about this from this POV. Life is so difficult that people sometimes like to get from the harsh reality to a place where they can feel even the tiniest hope tnat someday, things can be better. People find these in fiction, gay or not. Atleast, I for one grew to believe in love again from fiction.. Even young gays who despair find BLs as a comfort zone..I can't speak for everybody but everything has an advantage and a disadvantage. Sometimes we crave realistic BLs. Other times, we also crave some sweetness. I want mature theme shows, other times, I just wanna giggle and laugh happily. This is not just related to gay shows. These includes straight shows as well.
