Her story and the other daughter’s story Parallel each other. Both daughters married to abusive husbands and…
It's explained more in the book. They only have so many episodes they aren't going to spend a lot of time of each character. But in the novel, it's very clear that HJ is not a good person. She's not a redeemable character. Yes, her abuse is terrible and she does not deserve that no matter how horrible she is, but the way you are painting her out is simply false. It is possible to be a bad person while simultaneously being abused/facing abuse.
Last comment, the comments that people made about HZ's maid FD I agree with. I get being afraid because that's her father and he's been abusive since she was young but girl, how do you have such a brave mistress, and yet none of that has rubbed off on you even a little bit? Sigh...
I'm confused now. Didn't his cousin know? Cause they made it seem like he did. This is actually so confusing and, to for me, this is a plot hole.
Also, the people complaining about HZ....it's a bit late for this complaint because after the whole boat lightening scene in the first couple of episodes you guys should have known the vibe/actions of this character would probably be along those lines. So to me, she's not a mary-sue because the way her character is set up in the story and how her actions end up halfway helping her makes sense within the universe built. I think the scriptwriter did a good job given that in the original story, the female lead is from a different time if I'm remembering that correctly.
Why are people in the comments saying the emperor wants to kill GYX...I didn't see that in the trailers for the episodes tonight.
Anyway, I've noticed they have changed some things. For instance, in the book, Prince Ling, GYX's dad doesn't die that soon. He's present at a certain death that occurs at the very end of the book. Also, I don't remember a mention of a crazy 1st prince but I could be wrong because there are so many chapters and I didn't read every single one as it's too long lmao.
For those of you who have read a few chapters have you noticed changes too? Oh also, like someone else mentioned a while back, XY is completely different in the novel. She's super badass. Not like the character in LYX played in MJTY thought because SY in the novel has less arrogance I feel like. And the emperor seems to be close to both her and GYX in the novel.
soo much https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wQB2hUWoVDA
Deleted my comment because I realized you already posted this. I'm hoping someone who read the novel in it's entirety can answer if 1st prince had this big of a role. I only read some parts so I am not sure.

Anyway, excited for the upcoming story arcs.
