It's probably coxing medicine in sugar strategy. Most BL watcher (me included) are mostly interested in romance aspect since I can watch better mystery, crime etc. show from other countries. So if i edited trailer i would also appeal to thing that brought me to Thai Bl in first place - romance. While selling rest of the themes in the drama itself. Not Me sold action on the main trailer resulting in many people thinking it was not BL or it was not something for them.
This had the potential to be a cute little summer rom-com... It's a real shame since the location is beautiful…
It reminds me of kpop stories where agencies cast actors in bad roles on purpose to lower their value before contract renegotiation.... Because hell... You really need to work extra hard to produce something of this level...

Thailand's public might be supportive but people with money and power are old homophobic dinosaurs that will not cast openly guy actors for good roles or sponsorships. Even their politic is anti LGBT. So coming out is a big deal big - and not just for dramatic purposes.
