Yes, Go Ahead had universal appeal coz of themes of family ( I really love found families), friendship, and personal growth. Prolly one of the few modern cdramas I like.

Thanks for sharing about Family by Choice. I guess they made an attempt to differentiate it a bit from the OG by emphasizing the forbidden romance aspect of it.

13. Haha I get it! AYTO is not for everyone. I dropped TRON too coz I found it boring and sorry to say that the FL's voice was too strident for me. I thought I got over high-pitched voices in cdramas but not this one. 😅😁✌️

Oh yes, of course having a big budget is great but it doesn't translate to quality results all the time.

I think the "heart" and intentions of the cast and crew really matters. Some of the best dramas I've seen are relatively small budget productions.

I liked how smart, resourceful, and badass the FL was. Wish they had shown more of her "badassery" 🤣 The ML was on point, too. The main CP had super couple vibes when they joined hands against their enemies.
Frankly, I was surprised at Wang Churan and Zhang Wanyi's chemistry. Didn't expect to like them and this drama as much as I do.

Hmmm AYTO was not meant to be a slapstick/comedy anyway so the attempt at comedic scenes were miniscule. Perhaps, the person was referring to the ML's male friend coz he was the comic relief... He might have been too much for some people. 😅

Personally, I tend to dismiss such trivial things coz I look at the story and character development plus the chemistry between the leads.

Truly a disappointment. Waited years for that and the cast was so promising, too....I mean it looked beautiful but that was it 😅

15. A 2024 Drama that grew on you with time

I'll go with two - Are You The One and Blossom.
I randomly started them after seeing they were airing and barely even read their plot summary. I had zero expectations but the CPs grew on me, and both dramas turned out well!
