Many drama watchers were really affected despite not reading the novel. I mean look at the comments here. 😅
But that's the beauty of dramas and cinematic arts in general. We all have different viewing lense and it's ok if it doesn't elicit the same emotional response from us. 😊

That woman does not deserve a redemption arc. There is no Mo Nv in the novel.

1. Probably a directorial/script mistake. In the novel, TTJ only realized YXW had the WAJ when she activated it at the tower and the emblem glowed behind her. In the drama, they showed him noticing the WAJ during the wedding night but didn't comment on it after. So people might say he was too shocked after his heart was nailed. LOL! However, in the tower scene, he was surprised (again) to see the WAJ.

2. TTJ chose Bitchang so TTM(8th Prince) was gonna kill YXW. TTM didn't care who TTJ saved/killed.

3. In the drama, XL asked for TTJ's promise to look after Bitchang. In the novel, XL asked YXW to spare Bitchang so YXW didn't take revenge on her even before the supposed empress wedding/tower scene.
Anyways in both, TTJ was annoyed with YXW because she is prideful and didn't ask him to save her so he chose YCB at the tower scene. He just wanted to emotionally hurt YXW.
However, he was counting on the Fuci bracelets and his own powers to actually save YXW. He thought he could save them both.
