hmm, I really didn’t feel like that, personally. They did have tough times a lot but the good moments were really good too. The book does start with their childhood though so a good part of it happens while they’re kids. Just good to know

I read the original book this was adapted from and really loved it so much. I went through a few episodes of this and noticed that they changed small things here and there that ultimately made many things seem a bit more childish and less impactful. The scene of him finding her in Hongkong vs how it happens in the book and the issue about their fake baby too really show the issue. The way it happens in the book is far more grounded and keeps the characters more interesting imo. It’s almost like they kept the object of the events that happened in their lives but changed how it happened completely. They’re small things, but change how the characters seem so I don’t even know why they were changed.
After thinking about it though, the writers must’ve thought being more dramatic would be more fun for tv. The show has lovely cinematography though and the actors are very good.
I just love the story a lot so I want to yap about it a bit. The book is so good. I wish I had the downloadable epub version of the English translation so I could have a copy for myself.

totally agree with this sentiment. people are not perfect, so characters cannot be either

His acting here is fantastic. He brought the character to life 10/10. I think there are some voice acting parts that could have been less in your face. That and a few pacing issues. that’s it. those are the only things I felt needed to have been done better.
Thier son has his mother’s attitude😭 he’s treating him like he used to treat her. poor kid already understands the program.
storytelling wise, this show is superior to many others.
I’m so sad about Fang Yin though. her poor husband is devastated. why did someone have to die😭
I wish I could give this show an 8.7 directly. an 8.5 doesn’t do it enough justice in the face of other shows that are 8.5 and a 9 might be too high in terms of expectations … it was pretty exciting nonetheless

So many popular tropes that were popular at that time were used. Shan Shan was so cute though. Would not have been able to finish it if she wasn’t so cute, bright, and admirable

Surprisingly enjoyed this a lot. That’s also because I didn’t take it too seriously.
Separated the characters actions in resolving their issues from what I thought would be better personally so it wasn’t so bad. Watched it for the simple fun of this sort of show

Ning and Bao’er in adulthood? I read it on dramanovel and had no chapters titled like this. the chapters on dramanovel about them just shows when they promised to be married later and then later, when she was leaving with her sister and he told her not to forget. Are these the events in these chapters or is there more? if it’s different, could I have the link please?
