The truth is that he isn’t even mad because he thinks she’s cheating. He knows she isn’t and knows she wouldn’t. He’s just mad that she has someone else she’s close to that is not him. He’s upset that she shares her vulnerability with her other friends. Why can’t he just say “I want you to share those with me too?” It’s a valid worry, but why does he never speak calmly and directly about it? She doesn’t know what he needs and he won’t tell her. Instead the insults just come pouring out.
Her communication issues are also a huge problem. So, these two really need a break from each other. To grow. They need to learn to actually say what’s bothering them

Book wise, they had been together for so long, there were feelings all over the place. If no one told you, and you saw them outside, you’d think those two were married fr. He already had this plan of not getting married and didn’t really want to change it, but also wanted to keep Tao. There was definitely love there, but he didn’t really know… what to do with it? How to care for it? Something like that.
I’d say they really enjoyed having someone that was basically theirs. That closeness that grows after a long time.
They just really liked each other, or it wouldn’t last 6 years, but how to make it work was a whole other issue, especially for book Tao

You know what, I actually think it’s fine that they’ve kept Flora the same. imo, It just means now that show flora has deeper insecurities that don’t all have to do with his attitude to their relationship, but are instead personal and maybe to do more generally with the power imbalance between them. So, in this case, they’re fundamentally different characters. It’s okay for people to have flaws that make relationship difficult. So they’re theb both flawed people.
However, the only problem with this idea of mine is that the show isn’t exactly exploring these insecurities of hers, and is just showing the results of it, so it seems slightly irrational to the viewers. idk, what do you think?
