My exact thoughts!! I feel soo bad for the Aunt, Beom-Ja, when that happened. I understand what he was trying to but the whole family was on route to pick him up that very morning!! Too tragic! I wished Beom-Ja could have gotten the chance to make amends with her father. First all, fair enough if you believe she deserves to go to jail after her treatment to Soo-cheol. I do believe she has a lot to make up for after betraying him like that.
Second, calling a man "oppa" doesn't mean she was with him when married to Soo-cheol. He could have been an ex before her arrangement with Soo-cheol and yes it was confirmed the child isn't his and Soo-cheol is aware of this now.

Personally, I never thought this show was supposed to be taken very seriously. The chaebol aspect kinda gives that away so of course there will be moments that are unrealistic. However, that being said don't think it is that absurd for them to hug after that scene, and for Hae-in to initiate it. I don't think the hug is supposed to erase their problems and the mother's treatment of her all those years. I just took it as a starting point for the mother to begin to mend the relationship. And I think forgiveness can be common for someone is could die soon.

Perhaps, the mother also had a hand in the boat accident, which killed Hae-in's older brother. I would love that to be revealed, if this was the case. It would rid Hae-in of the guilt that she has been carrying all these years.
