Oh, I understand now. Thank you so much! Up to the episode I'm currently watching, the information and reasoning behind her actions were still unclear to me or perhaps I missed some of it. I initially thought her clan might be similar to the remnants of the Yan clan, who had a connection with the fire spirit and were exploited by the villains. I couldn't quite make any sense before, but I see it now.
I'm currently watching WDBD and I'm looking for another cdrama to accompany it! How are things progressing so far here? Is it more serious or is it a lighthearted watch? How is the chemistry between the leads? Also how is the mystery and investigation aspect? Are the cases interesting?
Okay, I can't help but feel optimistic about this project! We have fantastic leads whom I've admired from multiple past projects. The cnovel is one of the best ancient transmigration novels centered around food. And additionally, we have an outstanding crew that anyone could wish for in a comedy show, who have previously worked on projects such as New Life Begins, My Heroic Husband, Song of Youth and Royal Feast.

Why is Ruling so hell bend on killing our ML when the true cause of her clan's suffering is someone else? Like sure SJ is the reason Master Shi or whoever it is enslaved your clan BUT can't you realise SJ himself is a victim as well?? Why not team up with him to throw off those behind it? Looking at how much FL values friendship, if Ruling asked her, I am sure she would persuade SJ to help...Like okay ur mom's dying wish was to kill him but you miss the point of why! She thought that was the only way to freedom but you should know better now right?
Currently on ep17 and this couple couldn't be any sweeter! Their chemistry and intimate scenes, as well as their bond and signs of affection, are incredible. I just can’t imagine the tragedy that’s coming and I don’t want to see them go through all that pain and suffering! At the very least, I’m hoping for a satisfying HE in ep33 if we’re going to have to bear watching them go through multiple lifetimes. Btw there is something I am confused about will add in spoiler below.
Okay, I've watched up to ep15 rn and I can confidently say that this is the most captivating Xianxia I have seen this year after LOTDT! I really hope they can maintain this and make each upcoming episode more interesting and engaging than the last. I really hope the writing remains strong in the latter half of this series and doesn't fumble like some others! I can already tell our fun and easy-going days are coming to an end...I really don't want to see our FL & ML suffer, but it's still needed for the story to move forward and to their next lifetime...Now all I can hope for is for a nice delivery and a good ending by ep33!
The only weakness I've seen so far is this drama doesn't have iconic BGM or songs.Like if I think of LBFAD, AOL,…
Same here! Aside from the intro ost, I haven't found any of the other songs particularly catchy. In the first few episodes, I even thought the bgm for certain scenes was non-fitting. However, now that I've reached ep15 I think it has improved a bit with the introduction of more bgm in the mix.
They have 3 live times that maybe why something like LYST I think
Right this will be a long and probably emotional ride...The first few eps are most definitely the calm before the storm...It sort of reminds me of Ancient Love Poetry or Love You Seven Times in that aspect.
the cgi is so bad in this drama, but the fl is so funny
Actually, I found the CGI pretty good, especially our cute snake >< Compared to some other recently aired fantasy cdramas that had an "old look" to them, I think here it looks okay. My personal biggest issue so far seems to be the bgm...I just can't seem to find some of the instrumentals or songs complementing...
I’m up to ep4 and so far, I’m quite enjoying this show! It’s a light and funny drama with a pretty simple, cliché plot that works in its favor. The female lead is likable, funny, and a bit of an airhead, but bearable haha One aspect I found anticlimactic though, was how quickly and easily the FL seems to adapt to her new world in the first episode. I was expecting a bigger and more serious reaction. But judging by the overall tone of the drama, I'll let it slide. As for the ML he embodies the typical tsundere style, hard on the outside but soft on the inside, which is nothing new but still amusing. I also find the snake character super adorable, especially his interactions with the leads! Btw the chemistry between the two leads seems really sweet! ><

Going by your logic, you clearly think sarcasm = a solid argument. Just because you can’t tell the difference between subtext and friendship doesn’t mean it’s not there. Media nuance isn’t worms for brain stuff it’s just called critical thinking.

Does the word censored bl trigger you that much to come and reply under me multiple times in this comment section? There’s a clear difference between BL, censored BL and bromance. I hope some day you will be able to tell all 3 of them apart.
Sure, just bromance...Let's ignore all the subtle cues like shared gazes, physical closeness and emotional dialogues…
Yeah, there are Chinese BLs now but let’s not pretend they exist freely. Most of them came through loopholes, with creators walking on eggshells to avoid censorship. The uncensored ones got taken down fast in mainland China or never even aired and now actors and staff could even face repercussions for it by being blacklisted. Works like The Untamed, Word of Honor etc. were made under heavy restrictions and it’s a disservice to the people who brought those stories to life to reduce them to “bromance.” Even Chinese audiences were decoding double meanings in the dialogues and the symbolisms used on some scenes that only the native audience could tell but there are youtube clips explaining them like avenux. I guess some of you just want everything spelled out to feel it's "valid." If it's not loud or explicit enough, you act like it doesn't count. But not everything has to scream to be heard especially in places where screaming gets you silenced.
If you’ve watched both LYN dramas, 'The Prisoner of Beauty' and 'A Dream Within a Dream', which one would you…
For me it's TPOB all the way! Both shows have a strong and compelling opening but unfortunately, ADWAD kind of fumbles a bit on the latter half for me. In contrast, TPOB managed to keep my attention throughout the entire series. I think this is because I was genuinely invested in the story until the end. Ultimately, it comes down to your personal preferences. TPOB is the best enemies to lovers story I've seen so far in 2025, while I can't say the same for ADWAD in the transmigration genre.
The chemistry between the leads was one of the best aspects of this drama, honestly. Fortunately, the romance was only a subplot but I was still excited to see the development of their relationship this season! I hope they will at least try to find a suitable replacement and continue to develop the story well because I really enjoyed S1 and would hate to see S2 go downhill.
It really depends on how you look at it… For me, it was a bittersweet one. But honestly, as someone who usually only watches happy endings myself, I don’t regret watching this one a bit. The plot is that good and unique it would be a shame to skip it just because of how it ends!
Just a heads-up: if you're a scaredy-cat like me, I recommend watching during the day. Some episodes can get a bit intense for the faint of heart. But aside from that, it's truly an amazing show there’s nothing else quite like it out there right now. I wish we could get more adaptations of this kind.
