Jaeil having a moment with his fan from kpop era had me both laughing my ass off AND at the same time having a moment of self reflection as a fan myself lol But it was also portrayed in a heartwarming way~ Btw jaelous Sabi is everything haha
Does it have to end seriously...I mean I just feel like there is alot more to explore about the characters and…
Samee, I desperately need at least one more season of this too! š It finally started getting really good after around ep 5-6 for me, weāre seeing real character growth, progress and such strong development in their relationships and teamwork on each ep. Iād love to see even more of that explored! Honestly the great thing about series like this is that as a slice-of-life centered show around one profession, they have so much potential for multiple seasons! I really hope the crew will see the hype it got and consider it!
Just checked the highlight on YouTube for today's ep and it looked so fun and our ship is finally sailing officially!! Cannot wait to watch it later today!! >< ALSO I ended up watching ep10 preview and omg you guys it's sooo packed!! We got Yiyoung/Dowong couple moments and talks of moving in together, Yiyoung and Namgyeong fighting lol and we also got Sabi/Jaeil cute moment! AND last but not least Ikjun and his wifey Songhwa holding hands while walking in the hospital!!
one question. Is Resident Playbook going to have season 2? some sites claim that netflix canceled season 2 for…
Actually as far as I can tell it wasn't canceled, it's just that this is a limited series on Netflix? Which typically means the story is wrapped up in one season with no plans for a follow-up. That being said, there have been exceptions where a show gained popularity and they decided to add more seasons before... We also have to keep in mind that this isnāt a Netflix original so the decision about whether there will be more seasons ultimately rests with TVN. The PD even mentioned in an interview that the original plan was for just one season, but if there's enough fan interest and it does well a second season is always possible! Personally Iām also hoping for another season! Ever since episode 4 the show has been getting so good and really growing on me so Iād be sad to see it end after just 12 episodes.
I wish every episode was this good. I was slightly struggling in the beginning.
Oh, I totally get you about the begining part but honestly that's how it is with most dramas... You usually need the first 1-2 episodes to lay the foundation and start building their way up. Itās pretty rare for me to find a drama I love right away from episode 1 and even when they do start strong, they often lose steam halfway through. So, I actually preferit when a show takes its time to develop and improves with each episode! I just wish there were more than just 12 episodes and 1 season... Iām really going to miss this!
after watching 8 eps, i realized iāve cried the most during almost every nam-kyung scene šš thereās…
Actually even the PD admitted in an interview that somehow Nam Gyeong ended up with the most emotional and tear-jerking scenes throughout the entire series lol So us crying the most on her parts kinda makes sense! The actress also mentioned that every time she filmed one of these emotional moments, it would take her a while to snap out of it as the tears just wouldnāt stop flowing.
Couldn't even make it through the first episode...š“š“š“ this is no Hospital Playlist. Sorry.
Well, the point wasn't for it to be like HP to begin with...Otherwise, we'd call it HP S3 instead of RP. Unlike HP, where the characters already have their lives, careers, and friendships pretty much set and are already in their 40s, dealing with struggles through the comfort of familiarity, RP is all about fresh new starts of genz people in their late 20s who are just beginning their new life as residents in the hospital. And yes with lots of mistakes and lessons learned along the way...Cause they are still figuring things out as they try to carve out a way for themselves in an entirely new environment while also trying to build new friendships. So yes this is certainly different but ofc still sharing a similar outline, which is both being medical slice of life kdramas with engaging patient cases and depictions of slow burn romances and friendship along the way. But the characters of the friend group and their dynamics do differ to an extent, as most spin-offs do... I will admit though as an observation while watching this myself, that ep1 wasn't the strongest opening and some might find FL annoying but after ep2 it just kept getting better and better! (but still with a different "flavor" than HP)
I love that more of the residents backstories were filled in during episode 8. When I started watching the first…
Same here! This ep felt so rewarding and informative! It was thoroungly packed and we got to learn more things about all of the residents! I also can't believe we only have 4 eps left TT I will really miss this...I hope they will see the good results and push for a S2!
Idk about the PD-nimās favorite ep, but for me ep 8 is hands-down my favorite so far! I loved how we got to see more of all our residents this time. From the moment Sabi fainted and went into surgery, the episode started off strong and it just kept delivering scene after scene!
Honestly, this might be one of the most eventful episodes yet. I especially enjoyed Jaeilās little ādateā with his first love who turned out to be none other than Doc Gyeoul from HP haha. Also, I had already noticed the similarities between Sabi and Gyeoul since episode 1 even before the show hinted at it. So Jaeil definitely seems to have a type >< And speaking of Jaeil and Sabi⦠it finally feels like their ship is setting sail! Iām so excited to see how their relationship unfolds over the next four episodes.
The part that hit me the hardest emotionally though, was definitely Nam Gyeongās scene with her mom for me. Their dynamic really reminded me of my own relationship with my mother, and it just got me right in the feels I actually cried and it made me appreciate and want to show my care more.
As always, the patient cases were thought-provoking and meaningful. And on the lighter side, watching Sabi wander around in her hospital gown, checking charts because she was bored, was definitely the funniest part of today's ep for me!
Oh, and Iām really happy to see Dowon stepping up and becoming more proactive in these last two of eps! Loving his growth! ><
Whats makes you all think Do won hadn't started realising how he feels..inviting her for dinner... smiling happily…
Oh, definitely! The shift in DoWonās behavior this episode was so obvious. Heās starting to like Yiyoung more openly now and you can really see him taking those baby steps whether he realizes it or not. I honestly think the arrival of the new doctor is just going to push things forward even faster. Itās the classic ārival wakes up the leadās feelingsā move and Iām totally here for it if it means DoWon finally gives in and lets their relationship sail~
Looks like everyone is hating on the anesthesiologist. Its pretty clear that he is there was 1-2 eps max. Dowon…
I totally agree with the anesthesiologist part! As for Dowon, yeah this will definitely work as a catalyst but saying "try to make I Young like him again" sounds kinda wrong since in my opinion, she never stopped liking him ever since >< Even though the new doc could be a test for them both! I am so happy to see Nam Gyeong getting some closure as well and her relationship with the intern was so cute and funny in this ep fr!
I guess the new doc be taking Ahn Chi Hong's place in the spin off. Right?
Yep looks like it even though I think Ahn Chi Hong had more of a presence in the series compared to this doc here suddenly appearing and already going for it lol Even though I do get that this is only for us viewers who weren't introduced early to him but he always"existed" in RP and obv has interacted with YY and the rest already! Btw I've noticed that RP does this more than HP, maybe due to the 1 season limit but they seem to not pick up exactly where they leave every ep and sometimes not everything is shown to the viewers and we might end up only seeing the result of certain scenes!
Btw just watched the preview and tomorrowās episode looks so packed! Weāve got the whole DoWon/Yiyoung/new doc situation heating up, Nam Gyeongās mom being admitted to the hospital, and Sabi suddenly fainting?? Like, omg I seriously canāt wait! I just hope nothing too sad or serious happens⦠I need some wholesome energy right now š
