See, this is where its wrong for me. If their appearences were swapped then the lotus mark should have been on Jing Xi not on Shi Luo. This is like saying Qing ye would change his body every life which is inconsistent with how it should work. I really stand by what i said above that i do not really think they have swapped, just cuz heavens were cruel enough to make him go through all this. As XingZhi said, his divine power is inbetween heaven and earth so yeah for the time being he is lost as a god.
I understand his whole arc a bit different. Imo, what he is against and what he was punished with is not simply…
Probably or probably not. You see, its really down to what exactly he did. If he were to return and when, its complicated. Might be 10k years later, might be 100k years later.
I understand his whole arc a bit different. Imo, what he is against and what he was punished with is not simply…
Exactly. Like, his punishment will be over when he learns to let go and look closely around him. That is why i think both in the novel and in the drama, we dont see QingYe or his mortal lives again.
so when they said jing yan (the other ancient god) was meant to always miss his loved one, does it mean his true…
I understand his whole arc a bit different. Imo, what he is against and what he was punished with is not simply missing his loved one, but fighting with his obsession with that person. For example with Chengjin, we saw him obsessing with his wife, even going as far as raising demons to only sacrifice them for his wife. When Xiao He sacrificed herself tho, and when Xingzhi talked about Chengjin later on, we found out he actually raised a whole pond of lotuses, missing Xiao He deeply. His wife was alive and well in the temple. His obsession in that live was his wife, who protected him in the forest. The second time we saw him as Jing Yan, he grew up with Jing Xi. Yun Luo was just a person who saved him in the past. The way he looked at her while she was still ill was the same obsessive look he had in his previous life. I dont think they swapped souls or whatever most people say. Its more likely that when Xiao He sacrificed back then, her own obsession with Chengjin was transferred into the body of Yi Shi, hence the lotus tattoo. In this life tho, Jing Yan probably also broke the cycle as Xiao He did. What i mean by obsession tho, it aint the bad kind of obsession with your loved ones, more like the obsession with what you cannot have and inevitably ignoring the people close to you, that you also care about. Also, going back to the punishment. When he shed his powers, it was for a mortal. The punishment heaven imposed was probably for him to go through countless lives trying to be with his loved one, but unable to do so. Having his loved one as a simple mortal wont be a good punishment, so i think they made the mortal appear as a demon in every life, either dying or being sacrificed by him for someone else. Then when she is gone would be the very moment he understands he made a grave mistake and will miss her forever. We saw or heard of that with his life after Xiao He sacrificed. As Jing Yan, i think he finally was done with the punishment and went to be an ordinary mortal. He chose who was close to him, and not the one he cannot have.
Yes cuz while she was imprisoned for a month, on earth XingYun went old as approximately 30 years passed since…
Well, in almost every xianxia i have seen its always the same. Even while reading the novel of "Love you seven times" it was the same. Earth and nether world's time is the same, but heaven is always like 1 year in the other two equals 1 day in heaven.
no cuz like if he falls in love heaven will punish him and he will get stripped off his god status
No like, its not falling in love that heaven will punish him for, its going against the natural laws for the person he loves that will end up having consequences onto him. Its two different things. If he loves her he aint going against the natural laws, but if he for example harms any of the realms to save her/support her/defend her, then that goes against the natural laws. In QingYe's case, his loved one was a mere mortal while he was an ancient god, its bound that he will mess with the natural laws for her. Given that she is mortal, he will try to prolong her life, same as he did when he was Chengjin - by using orthodox methods that harm other living beings. That is possibly the reason why he was punished by Heaven. In Xingzhi's case, its a little bit different. He can love her all he wants as she aint a mortal, but even that makes him frightened, as he can never guess what he will do if she is gone.

Ah. Sorry for the spoiler. But yes, the mortal realm time is faster than the heavens. That is why Gods say human lives are fleeting, cuz for them a human live of 80 years is like 80 days.
