Yes I think fantasy/horror theme always gets a bit lower ratings.

Unfortunately the ratings on MDL are always like this. Remember Filter for instance, both the First Frost and the Best Thing had way higher ratings even though Filter was in a different league and did so well in China that it got a seminar and news articles etc. I‘m sure TDHR does better in China than here.

Yes, I think so too. When she bought the conch and they talked about how it could record voices I had a feeling this would become an important item for the romance story. Either it recorded his confession or he later gets to hear her voice when she said into the conch she thought she’d developed feelings for him (I don’t remember the exact words).

If XY is a demon wouldn’t that be too unsurprising? Maybe it’s not meant to be a big surprise and the emphasis is then on how they handle it and how the story progresses.

Thank you for always sharing those insights. While watching I felt that XY‘s behaviour was „off“ in several moments and I kept guessing. Also, like you said, it was very unlikely that there was bad acting by RJL and SZE. The storytelling here was really well done! Apart from the storytelling, this arc was also the most impactful (for me) because of the little black cat 🥹

Agree. There were great elements but overall something was missing. And LXY is so great but he didn’t get to ‚shine‘ here. Also I wish they’d shown more about the weapon spirits instead of 2nd couple. I wish Lu Chen could have returned to Yunniang. Qian Lin‘s story and character development was satisfying though.
