What are you watching next? I‘m looking forward to Love has Fireworks with Tan Jian Ci which will finally air in mid June. It’s a modern drama but there’s nothing else with him for a long time.
lol this is the most ridiculous story arc I have seen . Give us strong FL but there needs to be a limit. This…
I‘m also disappointed. The drama has various interesting things to offer, like everything about ink making, the cultural aspect, the family aspect mother and daughter relationship etc, the cinematography and the colour palette that matches the ink theme.. Also I quite enjoyed FL and ML interactions, but BUT BUT … most characters feel like one dimensional cardboard figures, the villains especially, but also FL as superwoman and ML character unfortunately was completely clipped - like a different version of PoJ. The only interesting character imo was Luo Wensong and if he reappears we don’t know how that will be. Also most of the story is not well written. Talk about plot armour. I think it’s doing well in China for the cultural aspects.

There is no correct or incorrect when it comes to personal impressions or feelings. Mine differ from yours and that’s of course ok. I just wanted to point out that not all people who feel that certain aspects about this drama feel repetitive are superficial short drama watchers.
Seriously? I'm stunned that they did that. Maybe that's why they sold to iQiyi. Needed money to do an AI replacement.…
I way prefer Li Xin Ze so I think it’s actually a good thing that they are face swapping. If I remember correctly it was done in the Legend of the Female General and it was not weird there. So let’s hope!
I’m so glad the Uncle came in and stood up for her. Even the other aunt started to fall for the fourth aunt…
I watch many different kinds of dramas and I certainly don’t just watch idol dramas with pretty faces, but I still feel the family issues feel too repetitive. I could watch everything about the ink making or anything related to it forever, also business aspects, culture aspects… anything. And I very much enjoy FL and ML’s interactions, how they talk to each other and support each other. It doesn’t need speeding up. Also LZ‘s grandfather‘s dialogues are very interesting and enjoyable to watch. This drama has many beautiful and interesting things to offer. But the Li family’s issues especially with the aunt feel repetitive and tedious to watch.
Please don't ruin any more romance dramas—stick to other genres!People always praise his "micro-expressions"…
Millions of fans love the way Ren Jialun portrays romance, so do I. He has the most expressive eyes and wonderful, on point facial expressions. The drama „One and Only“ for instance wouldn’t have worked without that. Here’s a part of PeachBlossomGoddess review of „Under the Power“ that took the words right out of my mouth: „Lu Yi is not a colorful character - he is rather aloof and wears a fierce, sour, still-faced expression; has no hobbies or evident vices or quirks... except for his x-rated eyes. Initially, he looks at Jinxia with ill-concealed disdain and annoyance at her crass, venal, and nosy antics. He is quite nasty to her. Ren Jialun's facial expressions were so spot on in terms of conveying how Lu Yi's feelings for Jinxia evolved over time that I was with him the whole way. As he comes to appreciate her intelligence, resourceful and unconventional methods as well as her innate loyalty and honor, there is both horrified revulsion and wry acceptance in his expression as it dawns upon him that he may be falling for her. This progresses into a very amorous, caressing gaze that is accompanied by a slow and sexy crooked smile that shouts out that under the embroidered robe, this imperial spy is both shaken and stirred. This is brilliantly written and portrayed OTP whose interactions move seamlessly between comic relief and searing, heart-stopping intimacy. This had me alternating between laughing so hard I was gasping for breath to fanning myself down frantically“ 100% agreed with what she wrote.
7.6I get it. it's not for everyone. some people are not into arts and culture. they prefer drama and trauma. This…
Luo Wen Qian obviously has it. She gifted it to him as kids and he seems to carry it with him. I‘m sure he’ll give it to her to recreate at some point.
