Is there more information about this drama? I wonder what would make it special. Of course TJC playing the lead would make it special, but I mean the drama itself. There have been so many medical/forensic dramas out there, the genre is overdone imo.

Unfortunately huge age gaps were rather normal for men of a certain rank in ancient China. First of course the Emperor. Candidates for official consorts usually entered the palace at age 14-16, so when the Emperor aged there could be age gaps of up to 50 years. Also many higher ranking officials had concubines. The primary wife was usually about the same age as the man but the concubines were usually way younger as an official first had to accumulate wealth and standing. By the time an official was prominent enough to afford the transaction fees and upkeep for a concubine, he was usually in his late 30s, 40s, or 50s, while the incoming concubines were typically 14 to 18 years old. Also nowadays wealthy men prefer young women. It is what it is, unfortunately.

I‘m afraid that most people seem to define romance by skinship. But skinship without feelings is no romance, so the central part of romance will always be the emotions. And there were plenty here. Plus imo there were several tension loaded moments 🔥
So I really don’t know what people want.
