The couch scene really got to me. Then in walks Vlad! Could we have asked for a better couch scene???

Wow. Simply wow. Severo, wow.

It was the perfect ending. Karl admitted to himself, albeit to Uncle Santi who is his sounding board, about his sexuality.
Uncle Santi explaining that he always gets hurt, but chooses to love.
That conversation between Anna and Karl was epic.
It is beautiful to see that Vlad has accepted that Karl needs his own time to be "inside."

You need to be your own judge.
It's a very direct story and could be any random person's real life tale.
It's got relatable characters in relatable situations.
There is no real drama toxicity; just people in situations which may have been handled differently in the past and present.
Even if the BL element was not there it still is about stories that could be true anytime.
The characters are very, very, very well written. Both Vlad and Karl have depth and width to their personalities, their own demons and redemption.
If you don't like true to life stories you may not enjoy this one. If you want the "commess" (Trinidadian term for drama) that is a soap, then this may not be for you.
If you are moved by real life situations, and getting into the psyche of the characters, then this is definitely for you!

Had to be. Karl was just so perfectly written to portray someone in that position.
Paolo did a magnificent job in the portrayal.

So this really put the Thais back in the top 5 BL's for 2020. Well done Nadao Bangkok! Acting is superb, even for the child actors. Chemistry is on point. Direction and camera placement are great.
Definitely Like in the Movies is 1st, with Gameboys an extremely close 2nd.
After watching ep.1 of both this and Oh! Mando they are vying for 3rd and 4th place.
Hello Stranger and Ben X Jim tie for 5th so far.
YYY is definitely 6, for all its comedy was well placed and worked in the context of a vivid imagination, but stayed true to its main theme.
Quaranthings is a solid 7.
I really wanted My Gear and Your Gown to be top 5, but maybe top 10?
Oxygen is not really hitting all the marks the series could be. Neither is Love by Chance 2, which seems to have some Star Trek level time dilation issues.
Tonhon Chonlatee has a good start so maybe top 10 also.
A Tale of a Thousand Stars seems to be somewhere over the rainbow?
My Bromance 2 is December. After all that time for editing it should be approaching perfection.

Loved Ohm taking charge and Punn revealing they need to fight in a different way. With all the twists I loved that the most! Punn really looked like he had turned.

I wonder which character Severo is? It's too real and personal not to be based on someone's true story, although it's a real issue.

Ep.1 That was an epic 1st episode! Set up the scenario and introduced the characters flawlessly!
Loved the ending song coming in on the radio!

Will be an unpopular opinion.

I loved the cameo of Cai and Gav, however, it did feel like a piece of fan service and did very little for the story. I loved Cai saying that Pearl's story is different and still being written, but after that their reuniting served no real purpose. Usually, situations are eased into. One character would comment vocally on a social media post then it would go from there.
This time Cai and Gav just appeared out of nowhere. It was just out of the blue and sort of uncharacteristic for the GB Universe. Maybe Elijah and Kokoy were only available for a very short time?

What I loved about the scene is that Cai and Gav are not forgotten; it shows that Pearl's situation is taking place in the time Cai's mom gave to him before he moves to Bukidnon; and gives permanence to the Gameboy's Universe.

It is a prequel for other works so we could really get S2.
Then, again, the conflict was masterfully solved in 1 episode in Gameboys. If Severo is as good as Malanum, and he has already proved to be equal, we'll get a finale to remember!

Seeing some woman in another room?

On second watching from ep.1 (which doesn't happen often), I must say this slightly edges Gameboys. The only reason I'm gonna give Gaya Sa Pelikula (we should start referring to it in its native name for respect) a very slight lead over GB is that it's giving a little more realism to the situation of coming out. GB sort of glossed over that one and didn't really give Cai extreme development when it came to him being outed. In GB we saw Cai in conflict for such a short time, but here we see Karl battling with his issues from the start.

To those who say Karl is fem from the start, I don't think so. The character has deep-seated issues of living up to an older, and dead, brother. Ep.1 shows him starting to dance to the music, but only in complete privacy. He is trying to be so controlled that even his cleaning is a trait of that. Santi says that he felt something in Karl from young. Karl is really close to Santi, but he says in ep.6, after hanging up with Vlad, and, again, in private, that he has no one to talk to. This also shows he is so trying to be in control that he can't even speak to his closest uncle.

Severo so perfectly captures every character and every minute detail that I'm looking forward to more of his work!

Usually the kiss is there just for fan service. That made Hell Stranger good: no kiss. In that the hug was just perfect for the mood and relationship.
This kiss, however, was just perfect for the mood, scene and place in the story.
