Junjun was the real hero of this series :) Miss Tina brought some energy. What a teacher! Crystal noticed the change in Xavier and was ready to let him go to even better himself more. What support and no female toxicity! I love how these writers (this and Gameboys) took the concepts of isolation and the pandemic and managed to work it to something positive. They took a niche market and made the most of it to success! The ending was just perfect! No kiss, just a song, and hug. It's the real first meeting and this speaks volumes. Hoping to get a continuation of The Young Padawans story and Junjun's mom's shop is successful.

Agreed. There's been only a few TV shows to ever really get to me emotionally. Futurama's Jurassic Bark is one I can never re-watch. Club Friday The Series Season 7: True Love really got to me. Grean House was just hitting a wall at a high speed. Gameboys, however, has all the buttons. Teen drama, edge of seat every episode, family drama, technology in everyday lives, coming of age, death, COVID, Only thing missing was if Cairo had a pet! It's just wow. Simply wow.

We're so accustomed to the Thai's bokeh of backgrounds we cant respond to normal ones :) Seriously, though, something about the backgrounds did look like green screen, probably slightly wrong settings on the film equipment relating to depth of field.

This can be a real conflict to Western ideals to young Asians.
I'm glad Gameboys showed this cultural feature as it did. Cai is feeling guilty and may, ultimately, move with the family.
The only very tiny, very, very tiny issue I have with ep.9 i the scene with Risa could have been longer. We see Cai beginning to forgive her and tell her it's not her fault. Her sadness and guilt were very heartfelt. A little longer scene would have given us more of that character of Risa and her motivations. Other than that the episode had all the high and lows and highs that any other episode had! Are we all excited to see the meeting???
