When Ride Home by Ben & Ben plays with Vlad returning I just swooned. Something I don't do often in any BL. I keep replaying that few minutes! It was just perfection! Karl's coming out was one of the greatest scenes in any BL and just accentuated by that song. Gives me goose bumps just thinking about it!
I'm only on ep.2, but Top and Mick are excellent together and boy can they act! I'll put their chemistry and acting on par with Singto/ Krist, Bonnie/ Emi, Namtam/ Film, Mix/ Earth, Kokoy/ Elijah, Tay/ New, Film/ Jam, you get the drift.
That scene between Nene and Khem just wow. What power from both actors bouncing off each other. I'm feeling it for Kawi. The pressures of a toxic, demanding father, feelings of guilt towards Rak, and just the whole sad situation in total have taken a toll on his mental health. Orn is a psychologist but can't even see this in her own son. Sad. The subversion of expectations between Rak and Pam, however, was just chef's kiss! I mean Rak is wonderfully easygoing, it should have been expected, but I wasn't foreseeing such an accepting nature towards Pam so quickly. This is when the writers can actually write, know their characters, and not just looking for any little, insignificant moment to bring unnecessary drama. Well done all around dear writers.
After this episode, it's 100% the best GMMTV show!
The long story form gives the couples proper time to develop rather than a 10 episode show. We get to know the characters, their wants and what affects them. This is GMMTV and the Thais at their best.
Amazingly it seems like GMM calling itself out on this one! While they did make the CEO look relatively good at the end, they still showed that it all comes down to money. Not talent, not the fans, but money. I liked how they called out the hardcore fandom too. Baifern learned that her toxicity as a fan had long lasting consequences on Pepper. Many rabid fans who virtually destroy the lives of celebs should learn a thing or two. Quite good acting from non-actors, good likable characters and a solid story that never lost its direction make this a win for GMMTV!
