I thought Calvin might be his son...! Also given the fact that the actors have a similar skin/hair complexion....…
Calvin's father, the King of Bhujar, was with Calvin at Khanin's investiture ceremony. That would be a big stretch.

Can the king just send someone to kill Rachata I’m done with this freak. the brutal punishment Paytai received…
The king is no better than Rachata, possibly even worse. Either way Ramil and Paytai are totally traumatized and not functional human beings due to Rachata's abuse. It's really hard to tell what either one of them would want if they hadn't been subjected to physical and emotional violence from the time they were small.

A light bulb went off in Ramil's head during the sex scene in this episode when he realized he was expressing a version of violence in bed. In the fantasy scene earlier in the series you know that Paytai wants some gentle love in some corner of his life. And maybe he's going to get it in the future. We'll see.

I was okay with the show until I seen episode 8 and seen that a scene was cut. I will not be watching any of the…
What scene was cut? 🤔

I have the novel but I'm not going to read it till the show is over. So no spoilers from me. I could be just as wrong as anyone else. 🙂

The king forced Charan to tell Khanin that Thatdanai was dead. And I have no doubt that if the king could actually have killed him he would have done it. Seems like Thatdanai is on the run. If he wasn't he would have already shown up at the palace by now. We know he's alive.

We all hate the ads. Falls under the category of WTF were they thinking?

all these advertisements are crazy and i can‘t see th anymore. They‘re doing something wrong bc when i hear…
I just wrote a fairly long post below about how Mandee needs to explore other avenues for advertising revenue than what they're doing. Plot-based advertisements take away from the show and turn off the international audience.

To put it in a nutshell they need to look at audience distribution. If they've got millions of viewers from Europe and the US they're getting nothing out of advertising those Thai products.

There are ways to place the products in the show in a much less obvious way and also place different advertising banners in the beginning and end of the show by audience location.

International companies will pay a lot more than Thai companies or even Asian companies for an ad. They're leaving money on the table and degrading the quality of their shows.

I won't say you're a hater, but you're absolutely a COMPLAINER! Good grief, so much plot happens in today's episode,…
Actually I've never seen it except in Domundi shows. And it's becoming more blatant with time.

And what they're doing probably isn't getting them the best bang for their buck. If they ignore the international audience, and also our sensibilities on ridiculous in plot advertising. I think they are doing themselves more harm than good.

They need some western thinking marketing people on their team.

Edit. And don't forget that even people in Thailand own iPads and a lot of other non-Asian products. There are malls all over Bangkok filled with those products waiting to be bought. And I didn't really see any cars in this series. There were some lovely cars in Cutie Pie. Don't know if they got any advertising revenue out of Mercedes Benz and the other high-end car brands that they showed, but they should have.

You know I gave this a lot of thought after I wrote that last post. And there are much better ways to do this.

First of all I'm not even sure what countries watch these series the most, and where the products they advertise are available.

I live in the US in the Washington DC area and I'm pretty sure that I couldn't buy these products locally even if I wanted to. So if there are a lot of viewers in the US, Europe, Australia, watching that is a completely untapped marketing audience.

Plus money in Thailand is kind of garbage compared to the rest of the world. The entire budget for this series was less than $3 million and they could easily get $3 million in advertising, if they spread their advertising wings. If the cost of living, and therefore potential advertising revenue, is lower in Thailand they will get a lot more money from international advertisers.

I know that Nu and Zee partner with a lot of brands. Zee models for several high-end and medium price clothing lines. They also have deals with Rimowa, Chanel and others

It would be easy to incorporate these products into the show. It's something that's done in Hollywood movies even now. So when Charan and Khanin are not in Royal gear they could be wearing a Balenciaga t-shirt, or even an Apple T-shirt like Zee was wearing in one of the BTS scenes. They seem to do a lot of traveling in this series and it would be easy for them to pack their stuff in Rimowa luggage. A Chanel or LV tote could go along for the ride.

Zee and NuNew have a bunch of really well to do fans who buy them a lot of that jewelry you see them wearing, and maybe some of the leather goods as well. So they would be an audience likely to buy something if they saw it on a character in the show.

In addition to that Domundi should be doing market research anyway on where their shows are being viewed. On IQIYI you have to pick a language and in addition they probably get other information that helps them locate viewers. So in Thailand they could have one set of banner ads in the beginning and end of the show. And various other ones for international audiences.

I think this would make for better shows, and more advertising revenue for them. But what they're doing right now is pretty unprofessional and also likely to hurt their chances of winning awards in any market outside of Asia.

I agree with you except for the advertising. The majority of Asian dramas do not have these really onerous product placements inside. That goes especially for the Lolani hair care products and the "Khanin:s Dream" ads that sometimes appear at the end.

Mandee should have gotten more investors. There is a difference between having a few banners and product sponsor placards at the beginning and or end of the show and this really gross inclusion of advertising products inside the plot.

It was subtle in Cutie Pie with the flavored waters, a little more obvious and annoying in Naughty Babe with those nose inhaler things, and completely over the top in The Next Prince.

Loving Charan Khanin and I’m excited to see how Calvin and Jay develop and the inevitable blowup once Jay finds…
Jay already knows that Calvin is a prince. He drunkenly blurted it out when Jay picked him up at the bar. And I seriously doubt that Jay believed Calvin when he said he was just kidding.

I don't understand BDSM, what are those things that you wrote?
I don't think either one of them knows what they really like because they've been abused as children. They've never had an opportunity to make an independent decision.

Possibly. I think that Ramil now realizes that the way he's treating Paytai is not much different than the way his father is treating him.

And in this episode for the first time we see Ramil intervening in the abuse that Rachata is meting out.

At this point it’s going to have the opposite of the intended effect and people are going to start boycotting…
I boycott any product that's advertised during a show for which I am paying for an advertisement free experience. I don't live in Thailand so I don't have the opportunity to buy these products anyway, but if they ever go international they're not getting any business from me.

As Charan says at the end of episode 8, Khanin shouldn't trust anyone. However I do believe he can trust Charan, Chakri probably Thatdanai If he ever shows up again.

I'm sure the players are going to unravel pretty soon since we are now officially more than halfway through.

I know a lot of Germans and most of them speak impeccable English. But I do have a funny story for you.

I take advanced Pilates reformer training with a private trainer once a week. I don't do it that often anymore because I've been training for over 20 years. The one trick to aging well is to stay and kickass shape when you get old.

Anyway early on I was in a class doing exercises on the Pilates reformer with weighted balls. You put one ball in each hand and do various exercises with them. It's a kind of strength training.

Anyway the balls happen to be blue and the instructor told us to pick up our blue balls and everyone in the class broke out laughing, because in English Blue balls is a slang term for a man who has gotten over sexually stimulated without a release and the resulting pain he feels in his testicles.

So there you go. Your first slang English lesson. 🙂
