This is a very good drama. As usual when there is good drama doing well - the haters for sure will come knocking.…
Why are they unfair reviews? And why do you call people who have a different opinion about this drama haters? The reviews I've read have been very thoughtful with detailed insight as to why they disliked certain aspects of the drama.
I really like that you focused on a different aspect of this drama. It almost feels like the producers of it wanted to hypnotize the audience into loving it. And half the battle for ratings was already won by casting ZLH. Pretty he may be, but how much does pretty help the person who wants to watch an interesting, well-written drama instead of just gazing at an actor's well-lit and posed face? (Ngl, I like many pretty actors, but they are also ones who have real acting skills.)
Thank you for writing this, I've been thinking the same thing especially because there's a Cdrama airing about…
I wrote a reply to lina McRae also thanking her. And thank you for your comment here. I started this drama, but the fact that it's set in 1936 got me thinking and after doing a little research and reading this review and your comment I don't think I'm going to continue watching. However much the drama might ignore what Japan did, I would be constantly aware of it while watching.
I had been looking forward to this drama, but when it started out saying it took place in 1936 I started thinking about how I would react to a drama made about a Nazi officer and his wife before the war, just as you mentioned. I did a little research (including the info from lilili's comment about Unit 731).
While what I found out indicates that the officer in this drama is unlikely to have known about those experiments I can't shake the feelings I have about what Japan did during the war (two excellent books: Flyboys: A True Story of Courage by James Bradley and The Rape of Nanking by Iris Chang) not to mention the ongoing rifts between Japan and China/Korea about what was done during the war. I got about 24 minutes in and I just don't think I'm going to be able to continue.
I want to thank you for writing this review. Yours is the only one I found online that talked about these issues. I was really surprised by that. Btw, who was the Nazi who tried saving China from Japanese?
Currently on ep 33 (I'm not watching leaked version so I'm going slow)I really enjoyed this drama. So many nice…
The fact that anyone who criticizes this drama with the least little criticism is called a hater is something I noticed early on and it bothers me a lot. I appreciate people who say what they think because sometimes it's something that would bother me and I like knowing ahead of time so I can decide if I want to watch or if I just need to be prepared. Most of the criticisms about actual things in the drama seem very valid to me.
Maybe you could start a discussion or maybe I'll start one even though I haven't watched the drama yet. It's a shame that other viewpoints besides abject worship can't be talked about, too.
I could swear this show was one of my favorites at the beginning. I wouldn't miss a single episode. Now, its like…
I haven't watched this yet, but I feel the same about most every long drama I start. I'm generally watching when a drama has been completed because I can't take waiting each day for an episode and I like to be able to go on to the next episode if it's really good. But more than 24 eps at 45m for a Chinese drama is just too much for me. Most stories can't sustain the interest and their will either be too much filler or too many side arcs that are distracting or boring. Rarely do I complete a 40 eps drama without skimming, skipping or dropping.
Naah....Reset is the best chinese drama I have seen and they had 15 episodes. 30 episodes is more than enough…
Loved Reset and I think 30 eps is also plenty. Most of the time I'd say 24 eps is plenty. I rarely can complete a 40 eps drama without a lot of FF or skipping entire sections.
Glad to see people updating what Ireine Song is doing. I only wish I could see the links on Rednote but I haven't figured out how to open an account since I'm not in China. I wish all the success to Ms. Song.
What is it with the two MLs in this drama? They're so disgustingly rude to the FL.
ML throws his jacket at her head because she got it dirty. 2ML kicks her chair and tells her to get out because it was his seat when he was at the school before. Such romantic gentlemen! I'm only in Ep 2 and I already can't stand either one. I think I'm going to have to drop this drama. It's so cringe.
What about this comment from ZLH? "Talking about it, Zhang Ling He shared in an interview, "It's the first…
I'm just going by what he said and what the commenter who mentioned seeing BTS of her carrying him (I see you've already responded to her). I think it's cool that she trained so hard for her role.
