lol---- I noticed there are many Zhang Linghe smear merchants on this site; ZLH can't act, ZLH is a racist, ZLH…
Popularity does not make a person a good actor, a good person or antiracist. If it did all the popular people in the world would be awesome and talented human beings. Sadly that's not the case.

If this drama and ZLH are so popular why are fans so afraid of people that don't share their views that they have to call them jealous haters?

"freedom is non existent". Freedom is the power to choose, censorship is to enforce a way, without leaving…
Applause!

That lack of respect for differing opinions on this drama is why I started the discussion about disappointments/criticisms. Too many people who weren't praising POJ were called haters. In fact the rabid fans seem to think that anyone who doesn't think this drama is a masterpiece is a hater. I just hope these are mainly very young fans and not fully-grown adutls.

It was so evident that all the rabid fans wanted was ZLH's pretty face. Rarely did I see his acting abilities…
"And no one should use “not enough episodes” as an excuse for poor writing."

One of my biggest peeves in dramas is that too many are bloated. If you need more episodes then you've either taken on too much for the story or you need a good editor who's experienced enough to know what doesn't advance the story and ruthless enough to get rid of extra characters that take away from the trajectory of the story and filler that's there to stretch the episode count. I want every minute I'm watching to count.

Thank you for the compliment!

Same about story, acting, directing. If I'm going to invest my time in a drama I want it to keep me interested because everyone involved knows how to do their jobs. Beauty is nice, but as they say it's skin deep and dramas need to be deeper than that.

People be missing the point here so badly it’s sad and funny simultaneously.Maybe we can still carry on with…
Yes, please, to more dramas with actors who have interesting faces and great acting skills. Some of the top stars have such generic faces I can't even look at them. I want people who look different and have great personalities that infuse their dramas.

There are several things happening here. When POJ first aired, it showed so much promise and genuinely beautiful…
It was so evident that all the rabid fans wanted was ZLH's pretty face. Rarely did I see his acting abilities mentioned. It was all about how much people wanted to gaze at him, how beautiful he is with or without makeup and how dreamy the romance was. I'm not averse to a pretty face and most of the actors I like have it, but they also have great acting skills and often choose projects that showcase their range instead of being typecast as the beautiful ML. I just hope that gifted actors don't get penalized because they are good looking.

And a female-centric drama doesn't have to sideline the ML. I dislike when either lead has to sacrifice their abilities and intelligence to bolster the other. Too often it's been the FL that has to appear weak and useless to prop up the ML. I want both leads to be strong and support each other or at least, if they have to start off weak. to develop and grow stronger as the story progresses.

no hate..but i guess that he kinda has to accept the criticism about 'appearance' when he blatantly commented…
Good point! And actors do have to accept criticism if they want to grow as actors. I read that Liu Yu Ning was criticized in his early movies (can't remember what for) and he took it to heart and worked on it and people noticed the change. I think that shows an actor that truly cares about listening and improving. Of course not all criticism is fair and it's up to the actor to determine what he can improve on.

It's a good thing he's self aware enough to know that being praised for his looks is not really a good thing for him. Looks fade; good acting doesn't. Great if you can have both, but relying on one's looks is not the way to go. That's why it was a bit disturbing seeing so many comments about POJ being all about ZLH's looks and not how well he portrayed his character. I can imagine it's hard for an actor when everything depends upon his looks more than his acting abilities.

Firstly, Lee and Minho are excessively common Korean last and first names respectively, resulting in many Lee…
I know, right? What's the deal with the constant criticism of factual articles by this author?

I actually thought it was the other Lee Min Ho, too, but was interested in the fact that there is a different one.

I watched Jackie Chan's unexpected family and I didn't know Peng Yuchang was there with a major role, it made…
I've been watching Peng Yuchang's dramas/movies because I agree, he is an amazing actor and I love that he chooses really different projects instead of sticking with one kind of role.
