I'm watching now (on ep 6) and I was thinking the exact same thing.
I only watched the first six episodes and the last two, so missed that explanation (I read recaps for the episodes I missed), but in the scenes where BJT is fighting the guy that stick looked lethal to me. And when he stabbed the guy with the knife it looked random, not like he was aiming at the heart. I also think it's weird that their was so much emphasis on how much force a person is those situations should use, as if lawyers debating around a table who are not in the situation can have the same mental frame of mind as someone who is being attacked. They did that with Jiang Ting, too, as if she should stab her ex once and hope for the best. It seems that the only way the accused can be exonerated is if they died, thus proving they were in danger.
Didn't they also say that if the incident happened today the law wouldn't have convicted him, because the justifiable defense laws had changed?
Zhou Lin's father blamed Mei Zheng for seducing his son. That seemed to be his reasoning for why he didn't blame BJT. Doesn't make sense to me, but neither does him blaming her for his son harrassing her, but that's not an uncommon reaction from a man and family of a man who harrasses a woman.
I skipped those episodes in the middle and just read the recaps because I got tired of the rain and the awful music. It made the show so melodramatic that, for me, it took away from the seriousness of the situations. A good show should be able to show all this even if the sun were shining occasionally.
I just started watching the first episode and it says her sister died on the eve of the wedding.
In the first episode very near the beginning it says the sister died on the eve of the wedding and it was apparently an arranged marriaged between the families so not even a love match. So I don't know why some comments are saying she's getting together with her sister's husband.
I'm watching now (on ep 6) and I was thinking the exact same thing.
I agree, but I do think he should not have been convicted of killing the guy in the library. That guy could have killed BJT with that stick with a good hit to the head. I never understood the reasoning for him going to jail and I think that whole experience should be taken into account. I wish they had told what his sentencing would be for his later crimes.
I'm on ep 3 and feeling waterlogged. Is it going to rain through this entire drama? Also not happy with the horror, funeral music. It's taking over every scene and becoming really annoying.
I really liked this, but it was very confusing. If anyone can help me out check spoiler comment below.
Were Xia Yong Hui/Xia Yong Qiao siblings? Did she have him kill Ma Chuan because his father had her husband/son/parents killed?
Was Liang Dong Ni’s boyfriend who disappeared also a sibling? When Xia Yong Hui was arrested she turns/sees him and Xia Yong Qiao. Both put their soda tabs in the can, so I think so.
Why was Xing Man called Xiao Yi’s sister, but not his sister?
And finally how did Xiao Yi's girlfriend die? Did the assassin stab her?
Sure wish the subs had been better. Names were subbed so differently even in the same scene it really made it hard to figure out who was who!
If they are not brothers then what were they? Friends but like brothers?
They were friends first and then Zheng Gang introduced his sister to Zhong Ning and they eventually married. So Zheng Gang and Zhong Ning were brothers in law.
I've just got to say this: How Zhao Qian was able to manipulate so many men is beyond me. Granted she's beautiful, but that laugh. That would drive me crazy. I've felt like quitting this drama whenever I hear her laugh.
And please, any man that can kill the wife he supposedly loved and his daughter and his newborn son just to please a woman and have a successful career as an artist was a monster hiding in plain sight. I really liked this drama, but the ability of this woman to get these men to commit despicable acts beggars belief. I do feel a teensy bit sad for Zhao Qian. With a father like that it's not hard to believe she'd grow up to be a monster just like him. He should be so proud of her. She was right when she said he taught her. He's getting exactly what he deserves.
That only one person has tried to kill Zhao Qian. When she was talking to Liu Ren Kai he looked like he wanted to. I'm not a violent person, but I wanted to after she threatened his daughter and his dog. I hope she comes to a bad end. Ugh!
This was rough to watch in parts, but Ma Hao Dong was really good in it. And it was great seeing him in short (and even shorter!) hair. He looks good that way.
Wow, until ep 23, I thought I was wrong after all and the sister died ages ago. Then ep24 proved me right. LOL.…
I got about 6 episodes in and it was so rough watching that I had to check out the last episode. Once I saw that ML wasn't the bad guy I went back and watched the rest. I'm not that good of a guesser so probably would have been clueless until very late in the show. Good for you for being so perceptive!
This was just adorable! Very short, but very well done. It didn't look cheap. The action was quick and some surprises along the way. The ML/FL were so cute together and I loved the way the ML always protected his wife. So many full-length dramas aren't half as good.
