She has to deal with her own cruel mother and a father who can't stand up to his wife and then finding out they knew that her husband was not the man she loved, but also Shi Yue's psychotic mother. And Zhou Mi's mother and father only coming back to claim her because they want to use her. And the twins didn't luck out with that father. I wonder if Su Mu Xin would have turned out differently if he hadn't been left behind with the brutal parent instead of being raised by the loving one.
