the score is 8.8, when you see something like this it means you're gonna see a masterpiece, it's NOT.
I have two major issues with this drama:
1_ his sin is unforgivable. his mistake cost the life of thousands of people. there have been dramas about the mistakes of generals or emperors like this that the main leads want to exact revenge on them. I hope this all be a conspiracy against him(if it is pls someone spoil it for me) but doesn't seems like that. the the cost of his mistake is death penalty. sorry but it's true. a murderer who killed thousands of people can't be a male lead.
2_ the female lead in this drama has two problems:
first is that a woman can be a leader or general, SHE can't.
her character is too poorly written. I can NOT even imagine her lead a casual group for anything let alone being a general who's gonna command at least thousand men in war?? give me a break. the example of a female leader can be Zhao liying in legend of shen li. she is nowhere near her, not in the least.
second problem is that, she can't ACT. her acting is too fake. when she laughs specially her sadness and anger is fake. come on!!!
8.8 I don't believe this is the score for such a drama. even in terms of romance this is not good and it's not like I haven't seen romance dramas; on the contrary, I've seen a LOT.
the drama is waste of talent like Ryan Cheng, what a shame

for me chu Zhao hasn't gotten enough screen time yet. annoying characters I meant the medic friend of Xiao jue and the weakest of the new recruits. just hope they disappear soon.

nah I'm ok with cute comedy romance dramas, I didn't expect THIS ONE to be one of those if I lower my expectation which how you described it it seems that I should I can go through it. the drama just neeeeds to lose the annoying characters which highly doubt it would

I had HIGH expectations for the drama considering how everyone was talking about the long wait and good plot and then I saw the score 8.8 which is a LOT.
I'm on ep3, I see NOTHING worthy of all those talks and the score. she is too cute to be a general and I see signs of annoying characters and unnecessary comedy here and there which makes the drama lose its worth.
I KNOW it's too soon to judge so I hope it'll get better.

I'm at the end of ep3, I've seen a lot of dramas this is exactly what I was looking for

wow I remembered this drama after many years, I've watched toooo Many kdrama and c-dramas but I've never felt the hatred that I had for mother of the ML in this drama for ANYONE ELSE.
in dramas I've seen disgusting people and villains, but the hatred that I had for her, nah no one came close to that.

'I thought my mother got depressed because of my poor grade. you didn't consider my feelings' then waht? then she killed herself??:))) you think your mother is an idiot?
I like the overall of drama and chemistry between main leads is 🔥.

look abusing your woman is all I need to wish the worst for the man. that's not my point, my point is that the plot here is WEAK. because in first eps they say he initiated the divorce and now he regrets it then in ep9 they say no she wanted the divorce first then he suddenly becomes abusive. WHY?
because the show wants kairan in the picture.
about him being controlling. the only thing that he did was telling her to stay away from kairan. which by all the things that I mentioned in my first comment I think he did a good job. kairan is not a good person.

I'm on ep9, about the second couple:
I'm a man let me tell you something about Kai ran, I can NOT believe a man who grew up beating people, owns a bar, seems like he is into shady busineses and considering all of these he is RICH!!! one more thing his first response to the woman he claims he loves for more than 10 YEARS is to hit her with knife which God knows what would happened if jin yu wasn't there. when he realizes ye meng didn't save him 10 years ago his love shifts in a matter of SECONDS not days or months or something else.
now the husband of ya en, we don't know much about him except those two are in the middle of divorce which HE initiated it but now he seems like he regrets it, he is frequently visiting his son and wife. ya en seems like she has career which is not doing bad and has an stable income. THESE are all signs of him not being a bad husband. NOW suddenly he becomes ABUSIVE?? and on ep9 she says she wanted the divorce first. this is all so we hate him? this is all because they want him gone and out of the pictures so Kai ran comes in.
c-dramas are soooo used to show bad or abusive husbands that I feel like they can not creat any other content so the story of a married couple goes on
this is one disadvantage of c-dramas against kdramas

I KNOW it's a drama and some coincidences are allowed BUT toooooo much coincidences for me it feels like they're lying to me.
come on, china has 1.4B people. be a little more realistic!!!!

this is not a good drama based two things
1_ endings are a major factor for a drama so we can call it a good one or a bad one:
a FORCED happy ending doesn't make a drama a good drama
2_ Evil doesn't get punished.
I liked the character of yeomhwa she really suffered because of the loss of her child, BUT she hurt innocent AND killed them, the cost of what she did should've been her life but justice doesn't mean anything in this kind of c-drama or kdramas
one good thing about the drama is FML, I think she did good. she has a good potential wish the best for her

it wasn't just his face she fell for, after she saw him for the first time to be certain about him she asked him a question: what would you do if you saw someone in the street crying? remember that? that's when she realized bedside good looks he has a good heart too.
actually there was a third factor too. if I'm not mistaken in the past someone told her that she'll meet her fated one upside down or something like that, you know east asian are superstitious especially that she is a shaman.
so her reasons are:
1_fate
2_good looks
3_good heart
AND if she is supposed to fell for someone else because the is just NICE and has the face of her crush when her real crush is in danger of death then it feals like betrayal and NOBODY would like a betrayer, do YOU?

because it's a rule in c-drama and K-dramas
IF you are a friend or a family member of the main leads it doesn't matter even if you are a mass murderer, in the end you will be forgiven and probably you'll die a good death.

yes he tried to kill her and was cruel to her, after that he spent 26 eps making up to her, protected her, defended her and her family, helped her anyway he could and she spent all those eps hating and misunderstanding him ( she was annoying as hell but understandable)untill she got that he's not beast she thinks he was. she figured it out that he wasn't the villain but w man who was trying to right the wrongs himself and even others and STILL humiliated him.he was wrong, yes no doubt. but she was not an angel either. when someone humiliates you you HAVE to let that person go. they reached the point of no return, there is no point in trying to force a couple with such background together
