I really can’t get over the plot hole of Chishiya and Kuina’s friendship. Having them be so close in season…
It actually followed the manga. In the manga, Kuina and Chishaya never really met again after they are separated. She did not bring him up after they parted ways. Not sure why the mangaka wrote it that way, but the adaptation tried to stay close to that.
Tbh how all of the main crew survive those gun shot though, especially Ann and Akane.....
I'm pretty sure the determinant factor for them to come back to the real world is their will to live. Since they weren't technically playing these games with their real physical bodies, the actual determinant factor is the motivation to continue their lives when they are battling within the borderlands.
Yeah there is a lot more romance this season than the last, but it does not take away from the story at all in…
Yeah I also read the manga and noticed they toned their romance down in S1 and bringing it back in S2 compared to in the manga where their romance has been more consistent. I still enjoyed their story though!
I really liked Usagi this season. I’m glad they gave her a bit more screen time! Saw the behind the scenes were Tao Tsuchiya trained a lot for her role and did a lot of her stunts. I know usually the main characters are never the most popular (since they are written to be more “relatable” or a bit more boring generally), so just wanted to pop in my two cents.
I also thought the chemistry between Usagi and Arisu was very nice - their loveline definitely balanced out the darker aspects of the drama. I know some people mentioned it seem “forced,” but they followed the manga pretty closely and I could definitely tell they liked each other in S1 - so it made sense for their loveline to be developed more in S2.
so i see some people angry at ep 7 because of the near-deaths and supposed immunity of the king of spades (like…
I agree with you completely. Them being able to survive ep 7 is most likely due to their will to live. They wanted to be alive and push through so they were able to come back into the real world. Since technically they aren’t playing these games with their real physical bodies, I’m pretty positive the determinant factor in whether they get to live or not through the end is their willpower. I personally really loved Ep 7. It was nicely shot and the emotions were immaculate!
So so good - can't get over it! KenTao have amazing chemistry as always. Been following them since Mare days >.<…
Seeing them grow as actors and co-stars is so nice! I believe this is their 4th/5th time working together already. Hoping to see them in another project in the next few years!
Fyi: this is a major spoiler so don’t click it unless you watched it
Yes I interpreted that the same way! Since it’s not technically their physical body within these “games,” I’m pretty sure they were able to live due to their determination to keep going on.
To people who are contemplating on whether they should watch S2 or not, I suggest you just check it out yourself to form an opinion! Afterall, it's only 8 episodes anyways! I personally really enjoyed the more emotional and psychological aspects of S2, and it's a great adaptation of the manga. Yes, some of the pacing is a bit slow and some of the dialogue can be long/draggy, but I overall really enjoyed the life message that the author is trying to convey (personally really hit home for me). The acting is also really good if you are used to Japanese live adaptations!
Some people were comparing AiB to Squid Game back then due to the absence of social commentary etc in it unlike…
Agreed. I totally remember people complaining back then that AiB didn't have a "message" to it, and now that this season is trying to convey that message, people are complaining and wanting more games? I totally understand that the pacing can be a bit slow with some of the dialogues, but I still really enjoyed this season overall.
I really loved Arisu and Usagi's chemistry! This adaptation followed the manga well, and it's nice to see their relationship develop from friends to lovers after all they went through. Kento Yamazaki and Tao Tsuchiya have such great on screen chemistry - this is their 4th time working together already! Hope to see them again sometime in the next few years.
This was just for one story. What's wrong with you that you stopped watching just because of an actor? That didn't…
To each their own, but I also enjoyed the second season! It followed the manga pretty closely. Hopefully we can get a movie or something for a followup! Not sure if that will happen though :(
