This is an interesting intro to a TED talk: Johan Hari:Everything you think you know about addiction is wrong
The TED talk by Johann Hari titled “Everything you think you know about addiction is wrong” is very informative. One of the most influential moments is when the presenter says that connection is the opposite of addiction, not sobriety as so many people believe. He presents many different studies that promote this point of view. For example, he cites the country of Portugal, along with their decriminalization of drugs the country also made sure that each person had something that connected them back into society; providing immediate jobs for people who knew trades. Instead of stigmatizing and criminalizing them, which is actively done in the United States. It is important to remind people that they are human and deserve human connections regardless of their choices. Hari mentions that telling the “addicts in his life” that he loves them and will always be there for them. He reminds the audience that substance abuse often times spreads from a larger issue and actively reassuring them is a great way to show support to someone who is struggling. Honestly, I really liked this narrative because it humanizes substance users and substance abusers. Instead of stigmatizing and criminalizing these people, they accept their decisions and accepts that they should have the ability to reconnect to society. Instead of pushing these people to the sidelines, they should be encouraged to participate in society and form connections. Hari says, that the absence of this is often the cause of addiction because your body searches for connections within a substance. This was a very informative video and could be used to push and create new and change current drug polices within our country. Policies that actually help these people instead of criminalizing them.

isn't it much more reasonable to assess his strenghts and weaknesses and still be able to cheer him on? itt's…
wow, i guess you missed the part about hopefully he gets better over time. i actually came to this page to see his background as an artist, since, what the evidence from the drama showed was that 1) he's used as a flower vase to attract viewership since his acting is superficial there and 2) the other actors (namely KNG) were not acting at their peak, hence, making room for him which I found strange and let me to think that either he has a lot of muscle power to push around other established actors, or, the actors want to encourage him or are doing a favour for someone else, or, they don't care as much about the project. I can think of a number of other actors who could have played his role so much better. i also saw him in gangnam beauty a few years ago and he didn't bring me out to the story but I could clearly see that his acting was limited. I sincerely hope he does improve over time as there is nothing wrong with that - I, at first, had a hard time watching IU in anything but then she did My Mister and I was blown away.

Why. Females are publicly shamed for a first offense drunk driving charge.
where have your read that he has been doing this for years or that many people have lost their jobs because of him? i haven't come across this anywhere? i didn't say that the actress needs to be canceled. anyway, this is my last message here as this conversation will go no where, peace out.

I agree with u word by word. Moreover, when a person buys drugs he/she contributes to drug trade. They contribute…
by your reasoning, that is the same with just about any economic decision you make. you also said you don't want to see a criminal on your tv. i think you should stop watching tv altogether.

but he is not charged for driving under the influence of drugs, he is charge for taking drugs. whether drunk driving is seen as a traffic violation or not, it is the act that poses the immediate highest risk to others when weighed. he broke the law, and will have to pay, but that doesn't mean the law is just or is the best way to address the act of using drugs. there are many approaches to justice. there is punitive, restorative, educative, rehabilitative.

the same writer from the series Lovely Writer which was amazing! I'm shocked on how bad the writing on this show…

Having worked with women who have experienced CSA, child abuse and chronic, pervasive family trauma, I think this…
as someone with the same backgroumd as uea, this is true. however, it is done in a irresponsible way and for entertainment only. i find this disturbing.

I can’t find the summary you mentioned. Would you post it again? Thanks.
after reading you summary, i sincerely do not like this production. it convinces me even more that they opted for sex scenes and milking the abuse. i understand the structure of rain down abuse on the mc (submissive character) and resolve the issue at the end as i have seen it be before in lakorn land but this show leaves a really bad taste in my mouth.

According to the novel, and some parts of the series, Uea is just attractive to everyone. He's also probably unintentionally…
it's the use of "attracts those types of guys" which puts the onus on uea that i find problematic. if he is attractive to everyone, then it's others that find him attactive and you are saying that all not just those type of guys is attracted to him but he's some standard of beauty that others go after. are you saying that he only dates predators though? does the book give that understanding? if that is the case, that's a whole different conversation and that still does not discount what i was trying to point out.

Not really an argument I'm heavily invested in, but I think you could say all religions have some degree of truth…
i also believe that there is one universal truth and that we can live in harmony without conflict religious. however, the theology is what it is and i was pointing that out.

you are right, it would make more sense that he would be a monk. there is no reincarnation in christianity.

BL is a spectrum, just like other genres, and I think it's good that you realize you don't like it, instead of…
for sure, i realize bl is a spectrum as you mentioned. you can usually tell when the creators are trying to tell a good story or not even with differences in budget.

isn't it much more reasonable to assess his strenghts and weaknesses and still be able to cheer him on? itt's not the characters, he's definitely limited in his acting and this is blaringly obvious in ep 3 of island. he took me right outside of the story. hopefully he can get better over time. also, why compare him to such a low bar? there are plenty of other great actors and decent idol actors who have respectable reputations.
