Wow, I just finished it, and I loved it so much! Finally a K-drama that doesn't romanticize everything. Usually in K-dramas they need to have their perfect meeting and perfect first kiss and their perfect wedding, and it makes me feel like their meaning of a relationship and love is so far from reality how it could possibly be. This movie breaks with those ideals, and I am so thankful for this. I really wished there were more k-dramas with a mature and adult outlook on love (and sex, because when does that ever even get mentioned in the usual k-drama?).
I also truly loved the message of this, because 'Love is obvious, you meet and fall in love, and break up and meet again. And most people probably marry because they are tired of the cycle endlessly repeating.'
It really wasn't what I expected. It was funnier, wittier, sexier and more heart-wearming. It does have some clichés, but all in all, it perfectly reflects what a romantic relationship is.
To everyone hesitating to watch: Don't wait a second longer, you won't regret it. I certainly didn't.
Does Min Ha Ri end up with anyone? She is my favorite character so far, along with Kim Shin Hyuk... I don't care much for the main couple so I don't know if i should continue watching :(
I started watching this and only got half through the first episode. Even though her screen time was maybe like 5 minutes in total, the main actress has already made a fool of herself so many times that is painful to watch. Is that going to change anytime soon, or should I not even bother to watch? Because I really cannot deal with her portrayal of a socially awkward woman...
I've seen her in 2 dramas so far and every time I do I can't help but admire how pretty she is....does everyone…
However, I noticed in Masters Sun when she wore the wedding dress that she was way too skinny! You can see each of her backbones clearly. She is definitely underweight. :( Her face is really pretty, though.
Ahhhhhh SECOND MALE LEAD SYNDROME, I CANNOT-- I love Seo In Guk in this, now my heart is breaking a bit ;'( I love So Ji Sub as well, but... Kang Woo is just soooooooooooo hot AND cute.
I really enjoyed this drama a lot. It truly makes you feel like it is never too late to take control of your life, and to do what you really want to do. Following the path that is the best for you at that moment, is something that's not easy, but everyone can find it if they look for it hard enough. Just for those life lessons alone, it's a beautiful drama.
the only kingdom the male lead would be ruling is jerkland , no matter how much i tried i couldn't get over his…
I totally agree. He goes through an immense character development. His playful and indifferent attitude is just a facade. You should give it another chance if you just dropped it for that reason!
I had high expectations and while I still enjoyed it for the most part, I haven't been more upset with the death…
Ah oh god, yeah, it was so heartbreaking. I swear, if a person on the good side dies in a K-drama, it's the kind, loyal guy. It's the same with City Hunter. T__T Makes my heart ache so much. So even though I expected it, after they reunited, I relaxed and that was my mistake, ahhhhhhh. Poor princess ;__;
I really enjoyed this drama, it was gripping and emotional. The production was well done as well. All the actors did a great job, especially the Princess Lee Jae Sin, though. The portrayal of her character in the later part of the series was phenomenal. Even though it was pretty clear who would die later on in the show, I hoped I was going to get proven wrong ;'( Why do the good men always have to die? That was heartbreaking.... I don't know why, but some of the romance aspects of the main couple fell short for me, which is why I gave it a score of 8.5 only. It felt like there was something missing. Even so, a great watch, even just for the political aspects. Oh but that villain was a nutjob.....
I adored her in King2Hearts. Her acting was amazing. It must be really hard to portray such a conflicted and tragic character. I hope she'll get more main roles after she gets back to work :)
UGH!!! Yet another offensive writer writing garbage, this drama from beginning to end had nothing to do with our…
I really disagree with you. While I also did find Hye In super annoying, I could sympathize with Dong Joo and understand his reasoning up to a certain point, given the betrayal in his past. Also, contrary to most other dramas, they do not split up because of other people interfering with their relationship, they both make perfectly clear where they stand, and at least it's a drama with (mostly) no misunderstandings, memory loss, huge accidents etc. I do not think it is one of the greatest dramas ever made, but I enjoyed it a lot, especially the first half. It did have shortcomings, but the writing isn't half as bad as you make it out to be. Well, that's just my opinion, but I think it's a good watch if you're looking for something more light-hearted with a touch of fantasy.
Contrary to most people here, I enjoyed the first half much more than the second. The second leads started to really get on my nerves, In Hee and Chang Ryul just didn't know when to stop.I really enjoyed the beginning of the drama, it was so funny and refreshing, compared to many other romantic comedies. But then the clichés started to pile up and I just wanted to curse at the screen. It's a nice watch over-all, but there are definitely better dramas out there. The story was too simple over all. Good acting though, and fun comedy. A score of 7 in my books.
Anyone know of any other good revenge type dramas? Already seen Healer, this one and Healer are both great drama's,…
If you love City Hunter, you'll probably love Pinocchio, the 'revenge' acts/revealing the truth are very similar, and they make you question choices and morals in life, I don't know how to explain it better, but both really made my view on politics and news broadcasting. Oh, and i can really recommend 'I remember you', it has to do with revenge as well and is action based. The main character is a genius, so it's also very interesting.
The only drama besides 'It's okay, That's Love', that I've given a score of 10. The plot was superb, the action intense, the emotion gripping and the first half was also really funny. Even though i'd have liked some comedy elements in the latter part of the show, I understand why they couldn't include it. Personally I loved the final showdown, it really brought me to tears, but I would have been happy about a real conclusion to the love affair. Oh well, let's hope for a movie follow-up?? Fantastic drama, I can only recommend it to everyone!
Ahh, I agree with all of the points you made above, those often result in a messed-up/boring/pointless story and the drama doesn't hold any more appeal.
For me personally, I have another, rather selfish and biased reason for dropping a drama, and that is when I obviously ship the 'wrong' couple. *dramabutton* I know it sounds stupid, but how can I bare to watch 20 episodes of the woman or man falling for the wrong person? Ahhhhhh, it makes my heart bleed. So yeah, I dropped Emergency Couple for that reason, and put The Producers on hold for now.
Another reason for my dropping dramas is over-acting and bad writing. Just can't take those.
Ahh, I was really just going to watch it for Lee Jong Suk, he's amazing, I've loved him in every drama. But now i'm really torn, the reviews for this show are so bad... I guess it'll just be a waste of time T__T I hope he'll have another lead in a great show real soon!
I didn't like the first episode, it was really boring, and the second one was funny but didn't intrigue me. I already hate the sister and the cousin (?) of the guy who was killed in the beginning. So far, the other supporting characters also don't seem very special. I only like the heroine so far. Is it really worth watching if I didn't enjoy the first two episodes? :( It has such good ratings but I just can't seem to get into it.
I don't really like Park Shin Hye as an actress but I love Lee Jong Suk, would I still be able to enjoy it?
I didn't like her in You're beautiful, but I loved her in Pinocchio. I must say I liked her more in the first half of the drama, but that is probably because I generally enjoyed the first half more than teh second. Even so, it's a great drama, 8.5 in my books.
It was okay but I don't know why it reminded me of Boys over Flowers so much. also it felt like an otome game…
I totally agree with you. I hate it when every single guy on the planet seems to fall for the heroine. At least Jeremy could've remained as a side-kick and good friend, but no, they had to add some romance there, too. Ruined it for me :(
I also truly loved the message of this, because 'Love is obvious, you meet and fall in love, and break up and meet again. And most people probably marry because they are tired of the cycle endlessly repeating.'
