and you can also take a look at his mini-drama (with Yang Chaoyue) from the show WWWLS which was filmed exactly at the time of filming "Our Times", he's grown up, of course, but Our Times is not the right reference, if you compare with him in "I will remember you" (WWWLS) you will see a huge difference

this is the best part of the whole ep 3 - the only chance to see natural and relaxed Hou Ming Hao
it also includes the full part of the players selection for 3v3 (which was not shown in the regular episode)
actually what happened there, it should be explained to the audience

Neo's suggestion for 3v3 was: Milan, Bai Jing, (?)
Marbury's suggestion for 3v3 was: Li Rui, Meng Jingqi, Ding Chao

then Marbury asked the team who wanted to play 3v3, those who stepped forward were:

It's nice to see Neo and Flora can chat now at ease (after they had their awkward moment in the car when they first met). I like how Flora tries to be involved there. Actually she was the only girl during the mix game in ep 2 who didn't dodge the ball and made an attempt to shoot, and also played proper defence trying to mark Ou Hao and Neo.
And in the tidbit video we can see how Neo talked to Flora about what was happening on the court, explaining basketball rules to her (of course accessible via youku only, luckily there are some merciful souls to share): https://m.weibo.cn/detail/4679680777781712

So you haven't seen him since WWWY? for me that was so long ago, filmed at the beginning of 2018

Neo keeps changing every day, every week, every month ! If you follow him you can notice how he changes gradually (and get used to it). But in this continuous change of his looks there are some phases/cycles after which you say: "he looks different now and yet he looks exactly the same like a couple years ago".
That's why while watching Our Times I can still see the same face of the boy from Cambriad Period, I mean it's not the same but I can still see how it is the same, recognize still the same features, I'm even tempted during the scenes to take some screenshots for comparison but I'm to busy now to do so (so I will not post).

I think it's a little bit unfavourable for Neo that "Our Times" got released before "Reading Class".
Some people haven't seen him for a long time or some new fans/viewers have never seen his recent looks but only know him through his old dramas. Now they got "struck" by his looks in Our Times (which is so unnatural, they really overdid it here and I don't like it at all). I expect there will be many such comments like yours.

With the promo material issued in August I was hoping for some kind of parallel dimensions in the drama so we could see at least a little bit of modern Hou Ming Hao playing a casual guy in a normal relationship with a modern girl....
Now (after getting familiar with some of the novel's content which sounds rather repellent) I'm not so sure about it, cannot see any mention of it anywhere (it was hinted by some fans of Neo before, sth about two parts of the drama). I really would like to hold on to that hope but probably I'm just deceiving myself.
