by the way, the length of episodes 《平行时空遇见你》 and 《平行时空撒糖版》 gets longer with every issue: ep1 - (1:23:11) and (0:34:05) ep2 - (1:40:01) and (2:07:52) ep3 - (1:49:50) and (2:05:48) ep4 - (1:51:31) and (2:15:29) ep5 - (2:02:28) and (2:18:15) ep6 - (2:14:07) and (2:34:19) ep7 - (2:25:32) and (2:40:13) ep8 - (2:39:44) and (2:51:46)
Li Yi Tong & Hou Ming Hao meeting in EP1 - extra tidbits unaired (not inlcuded either in the episode or "sugar edition", not uploaded on WeTV or Tencent YT either)
Actually Neo was still 18 in the show. He turned 19 in August 2016, and the show was filmed in parts from May until around end of July 2016. He didn't have a driving licence yet at that time, so only the other two guys could drive with the kids.
First of all, thank you for the article. It's so nice you wanted to promote this drama and devoted your time. I like the composition of the article, it's thorough and well-written.
Secondly, .... I do not care much about comments on the acting in the said drama (written in the drama section) as people are free to write any stupitidies*, but as this is an article which tells readers not only about production & visuals but mentions actors' performance as well, I think it should be stressed in its text, that the male lead Hou Ming Hao got dubbed with somebody else's voice, which makes it impossible for us to assess or admire his own acting, while the other two main actors Liu Dong Qin and Zhu Xu Dan (Bambi) are not dubbed, or they are dubbed with their own voices, regardless of which it is, what's important we can still hear them, their emotions and expression, which we cannot in the case of the first male lead. This is a huge dissappointment of this drama.
*I'm referring to such comments on Liu Dong Qin's acting in the drama where he's criticized and compared with Hou Ming Hao who "is better in delivering the lines". In fact, this is not Hou Ming Hao who is "delivering the lines" in the drama.
Anyone who wants to have the full vision of all scenes/shots taken and awareness of the whole process of filming needs to watch apart from regular episodes also trailers for episodes and "sugar edition" 平行时空撒糖版 (VIP episodes), since there are different shots/cameras specific (unique) for each one, which do not appear in other versions. A regular episode is not an abridged version of an extended episode, it is a different version, with some parts cut out and some parts replaced (different camera angles for the same scenes in both versions).
an example from the latest episode 7 (2 scenes from HMH & YCY's part)
*this post contains spoiler in form of GIFs*
scene 1 single shot - this shot (a single kiss) is exclusive to the trailer (not included in regular episode "making of" part/not included in sugar edition "making of" part, not shown in the mini-drama)
A very good actor! His performance in A Girl Like Me, is mind-blowing. With hardwork and dedication, he'll definitely…
I wish I could see his performance in "A Girl Like Me". 2 years, and this is the third consecutive drama where Neo got muted and dubbed, and I cannot take it anymore.... Only his handsome face, charismatic and expressive eyes, charming smile, and passionate kisses... but where is the actual acting? Where are HIS emotions, feelings, expression CONVEYED? How am I supposed to admire his acting if I do not get a chance to see it? I do believe that in front of the camera he's mind-blowing but I don't want to "believe", I want to see it myself. Just waste of his efforts. And there is only BTS footage left where we can see his performance, there are some scences from the drama shown like there were ORIGINALLY filmed, with Neo saying the lines himself: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bUvfb8q4T-o BTS (Tencent channel) MUST-WATCH material
I think the reason it caught my attention on episode one was Neo and Chaoyue specially even if it was planned…
it is a hig risk show and they already experienced one flop, what I read before the show started, there was an interview with the director (or the producer) of the show, they had another "dating" show before and it didn't work out like they wanted, members/couples dropped out and they needed to cancel it halfway, so they hoped this one could make better, but I don't remember more details (cannot get now to the source article) about forming the couples, it is most probable they were arranged like that beforehand, usually half of the "reality" in Chinese variety shows is just a fiction (I think the Chinese know it very well and got used to it)
how do people think like you? people are literally fine with actors and actresses abusing their own children merely…
literally you said, quote:
" she just decided that she didn’t want kids before they were born and removed herself from the situation."
" if he was adamant about raising them despite her objections, it follows that she then just chose to completely remove herself from the situation. “He wants to raise them on his own, he can”. But they stopped being her children for her."
and that is what I referred to.
And given what ZS's wrote in her messages I assume (assume, and assume only) it might be the case here. Unfortunately i cannot now find the source I've read her words about him asking money from her that was related to the children, so i cannot quote to you. By the way, all ZS's evasive and idiotic messages on her weibo have also got now deleted.
how do people think like you? people are literally fine with actors and actresses abusing their own children merely…
“He wants to raise them on his own, he can”. He can. He can also sue her for a giant maintenance, and in my opinion, he should.
Putting aside moral judgement, let's talk from legal point of view.
It's not like you say that you can just "remove yourself from the situation" and erase a child if you don't want it. According to the law, and I think in any country, if one parent wants to keep his/her child he/she has the right to ask for maintenance from the other parent who doesn't want to "be a parent" anymore.
You cannot force the other parent to give a child away for adoption, just because you don't want your ex to take money from you. Whether you want it or not, you pay money to your ex until your child comes of age. It doesn't stop being your child, just because you decided so.
You may pretend you have no child, and never mention the child to others, but the responisbility of a parent doesn't disappear. The law protects the child.
That is a very pointed assessment and thoughtful suggestion. I feel that most of the people who use MDL are fans…
If "A Chinese Ghost Story" is suspended (and what I could find from the press, it is) it means that "owing to" ZS the male lead who is now 23 years old ends up with 2 such dramas. His other drama (filming completed in Sept 2017) has been delayed for unknown reasons for 3 years already and anybody refuses to give any explanation why it's not planned for broadcast.
Given the date of brith of ZS's children (Dec 19/Jan 20), there were conceived in April 2019 which would be right before her scheduled drama. "A Ghost Story" started shooting at the end of April, and finished in mid August. According to the message posted by ZS on her weibo, on Sept 27, 2019 on the plane she was already angry with her boyfriend (for cheating on her).
What I'm mad about is, that already working with the drama crew she had that idea implemented, and she was aware of her actions. She simply put at risk all the production team. She must have been aware that this would affect lives and careers of her co-workers/film partners if ever exposed to the public. She knows Chinese regulations and how the system works, a collective punishment for anyone that was involved in her works. All these people around her were already doomed.
The fact that she even dared to think of or mention an abortion a few months later , means that she had always seen it as an otpion in case things went wrong. I will not believe that she had never before thought of consequences of the surrogacy, and hadn't thought of different scenarios (like what to do if guy cheats on her, or steals from her).
She has now ruined other people's whole work, and affected their future. Whether her own career is over, I don't give a damn.
That is a very pointed assessment and thoughtful suggestion. I feel that most of the people who use MDL are fans…
not a couple, these are all with her main roles which are listed now by the Chinese press, there is also one drama with her support role, and one variety show mentioned that needs to replace her
TBA doesn't mean that it was filmed, TBA on MDL means also "we accept rumours here" and these are dramas with rumoured or unconfirmed castlist which changes every month/year example: https://mydramalist.com/62647-luo-hua-shi-jie-you-feng-jun
I'm grateful to many people in the comments who pointed out the messiness of this article. This situation is quite…
absolutely agree with you, thank you
