Yes, in her current state, that is truly the case, she defo can’t shine now…. But then again, I wonder if they will really stick to the whole Ming dynasty thing strictly for this…. Because I noticed, her own family isn’t run by men…. It’s matriarch based, and they seem to control the whole prefecture?
Think another interesting thing to note, which I also found very realistic, is actually both of them have no idea what they want to do in life or what they want to be…. Well at least not yet…. lol, I don’t think it’s bad that he is her minion because she is obviously the one with the brains…. Or at least she thinks further ahead and is more mature/staedy… I do think they are good complements….
BUT then again….. this is Cdrama land, let’s just hope all the development and progression won’t make the plot all weird towards the end…

lol, like really ordinary, I thought it was really refreshing. I looked through all the ‘Recommendations’ and none of them have a ML that is basically a nobody….
Well, I wouldn’t say pave the way, in this particular case, I almost feel like she needs a man to be her minion…..? Because she basically can’t be that minion….. but if I step back to think about it, I’m actually not so sure who is paving way for whom…. I think actually he needs her to pave the way for him because he has been rather unsuccessful so far on his own….
I like his character because he will go from a nobody to somebody 😁
I mean to hero is the typical Cdrama route….. but I don’t think there is a single historical Cdrama whereby it’s really zero though…… I mean it’s usually fallen, broken, betrayed etc…. But not like a plain John…. Like really a normal dude….
Kinda interesting premise, think this is the only drama whereby the ML is really a nobody…..? neither a general nor a nobleman. And not from a rich/prestigious family….
Watched all the latest trailers right up till Ep.26….. NPSS craziness has begun, all the wild tomb designs/dimensions and world building has begun. lol. It’s like an Inception version of the ancient building…. Think the concept they are going for is “a building within a building within an illusion” kinda thing…..?
Can’t wait for this, always knew they have super strong chemistry because they became pretty good friends after their first collab… I actually think it’s also because Elaine Zhong speaks perfect Cantonese, I mean Cantonese could be her first language in conjunction with Mandarin… so she gets all his jokes vice versa… also of course, they look really good together physically…

I’m really glad they found a suitable cast replacement this time. I wonder if they will reveal as to why Fo Ye did what he did…. So the novel heavily implies that he has a legit reason, but it was never disclosed there. Mostly coz the entire Daomu Biji novels are unfinished/halted/tbc kinda status…

Ah, didn’t watch that. I’ve defo watched her in other dramas. Just always very neutral about her. She is too lithe, thus I’ve always felt that only certain type of roles suit her…
Damns. Have to admit that the storyline and details are really very intricate and rich…. the Huo XianGu arc was pretty solid… didn’t really think Sebrina Chen could pull it off….. but she did… ok, wow.
