Yea you are right, seriously people need to be open to getting psychological help or counselling. Why are things like that still considered a taboo…. Oh boy, people like these do truly exist in day-to-day life…. Probably just hiding behind some very normal looking facade.

Jelly Lin’s character is for sure written to mirror the plaintiff in that case… she was significantly younger but the words/phrases she used in the interview had uncanny similarities… at least it gave off the same vibe… but the plaintiff is so young though when it happened. She isn’t a minor but based on her background you can exactly tell why she is so naive…. Defo an over-protected upbringing…. Poor her…. I mean it isn’t a crime because English isn’t her first language and also just coz she is inexperienced and naive…. 😒

The conclusion of that case is also rather surprising…. I wonder how she’s doing now, hopefully she is more mature and has become a bit more brave. You can tell her character is quite meek… Hopefully she will eventually truly overcome it instead of living in the shadows now that they have settled out of court. ❤️

Seriously…. Not even kidding. We’re no longer living in mediaeval times…. Like esp with kids, the more so a couple should divorce when counselling or woteva the hell it is is no longer working. Esp those that like fight constantly or like lead separate lives but still live under the same roof. But like wot on Earth is the point of like having a no-divorce mindset when you can’t fix it….. there isn’t even love. I mean if you are hopelessly in love, ok, I get it… fine…

I honestly thought as dramatic as Kim Na Young was initially, she was the only one that really came to her senses and really led by example. Esp also in dealing with the equally weird teacher-mistress…

I mean to be really frank, Oh Yu Jin is also the epitome of crazy….. like based on all the blackmailing she has done, I wouldn’t exactly call her a normal or nice person. In a way she goes perfectly with the equally psycho husband…. Just the whole marriage is so messed up and hence why when they fight it became like that… he did actually dial ‘11’ and the next number is supposed to be a ‘2’… just it was incomplete…. She hopped off the ledge right…..? It kinda reminds me of the whole Rihanna and Chris Brown situation… I remember when Rihanna’s photos were released….. I thought it was so crazy. And even more crazy that she never pressed charges and they even continued being together after.

I mean the lady hiding in the room is also equally crazy seriously…. I think it’s crazy but when I seriously think about it…. I actually think some humans would really do that in real life. Some of the things are quite far-fetched but a lot of stuff the screenwriters actually made it plausible… and it’s reminds you of scenarios or people that you do encounter in life.

I actually think some parents should think carefully before becoming parents… and if otherwise, should divorce in a clear-cut manner the moment they realise it’s no longer salvageable…. Basically like Kim Na Young in the drama. Otherwise everyone involved is just sucked into eternal darkness perpetually. Esp children…. Like it confuses and also traumatises them when things are dragged on and just becomes one big ball of disaster.

But just thinking back of the entire thing now is so crazy…. But in a way actually is also so eerily realistic….. I actually think all the scenarios they’ve depicted are plausible in real-life…. Coz at the end of the day now thinking back…. Actually he didn’t murder her…. He did call the police, but she knocked him unconscious…. She actually jumped off the ledge after getting hurt….. damns. That is so scary.

Ah ok, so the order of things is kinda like wot I gathered. But I was left kinda confused coz it did look like she only discovered about Ju-Ah and her husband that night itself, after the whole paid assassin thing.

So she wanted to kill her husband because of all the SM stuff with other women which her daughter watched… okayyyyy, didn’t know other videos existed other than the Ju- Ah ones.

Gosh, I never knew of this and I owned JD.com stocks at some point 🤣🤣🤣… the surveillance video to an apartment was a key point too along with the copious amount of alcohol!! 😯 it was also a male 3rd party who reported the incident to the police which is uncommon……… Richard Liu also had changes to his equity stake because of the case! Can’t be a mere coincidence, they must have written the screenplay based on it, it even matches timeline wise… the case was in 2019 and they filmed this in 2020…. 😝🙊

The debates between the policeman and policewoman in Ep 11. and 12 were enlightening!

I actually think Mrs. Wu believed it was mutual and consensual before Lin Kan decided to abruptly “break-up”…. Zhou Xun’s character equally never spoke a word about it, and I’m sure her husband wouldn’t have…. A man having an affair with a young woman is immensely different from a man targeting young women who could potentially be a rapist cum borderline paedophile… She marched into the office thinking Lin Kan was a mistress, believing that her husband is only guilty of having an affair with a young student….. I’m looking forward to the unraveling of this sub-plot and whether there will be closure for all the parties involved…

Yeap! So as a female esp coz she’s physically quite attractive, not to mention young…. She will be crucified coz of that… I mean it won’t be evidence but it will sway public opinion. I never even knew it was important prior to Amber Heard’s case, esp coz hers was made so public and followed closely in detail by the press.

Ummm, so how I viewed her teetering was basically wot she said when she came clean to the police in Ep.11…. I think she has subconsciously been convincing herself of accepting something unpleasant because it has been bearable prior and nothing has gone really wrong… actually I think if nobody reported it to the police she probably also wouldn’t have been ‘aware’ herself. Honestly I think she would even continue to go to work normally…. So in her world she probably has no idea of the “step-by-step” bit because of her age + lack of experience. This is where the debates between the policeman and policewoman in Ep 11 and 12…. were super spot on and eye-opening. I actually think both of them are right and have valid points. They actually highlighted a lot of things which I’ve never even thought of on my own…. For example, the definition of rape….

So I don’t know if a post-graduate, I think they mentioned she has a Masters or a PhD… will actually analyse her own career wondering if she deserves to be promoted quickly or not…. No idea seriously, if it were me, maybe not….? I don’t know… I think it would depend on the exact circumstance just like how Zhou Xun asked her mentor on why he hired her as a graduate after sooooo many yrs when she’s already sucha capable and established lawyer….

BUT…. I do think the whole drinking soooo much alcohol during the business dinner was……. Ok, this I do think is universal and also depends on how much life experience or equally how naive a person is…… She literally just went for it and was downing glass after glass with no backup plan. Perhaps she has never been drunk her entire life…. But that basically was a suicide mission. Her mindset + character then indicates she has a bit of an ego hence the denial, but at the same time she’s also easily intimidated… like she was saying “I’m not drunk etc etc”… and also like how she confronted Zhou Xun on how much she earns and whether she’s mocking her…. Her 5 days of contemplation was basically coz many things were a blur (thanks to the alcohol) and also equally ambivalent to her, for example she got slapped by her father….. 🤔 and I think that will come through in court…. Not everyone will be able to relate to her perspective and circumstance as much as I’m sure is valid even in reality. I actually think it probably applies to a lot of young women and minors.

Also, I’m curious to see how it will unfold… I actually kinda agree with the policeman…. I mean can you hold someone legally accountable for being a hypocrite + a Casanova…? I never knew it was possible. I always thought you either had to be completely unconscious or have to explicitly say no be it via actions or words. This is a mix of everything 50 shades of grey and she’s not a minor… public opinion aside, is it even punishable under the law…..? I also agree with the policewoman, gender bias aside, the law should protect those who are weak and unable to voice up on their own otherwise the legal system is broken because it is partial from the get go….

I wonder if a lawyer like Zhou Xun exists in real-life…. Up until Episode 12 she is the only one who can objectively yet emphatically observe and analyse the entire situation including the motivation and psychology of parties involved…. Slightly disappointed that Elaine Zhong’s character wasn’t able to as a policewoman, can tell she’s quite emotionally driven which isn’t great as it creates bias although it also makes her very passionate/serious about her job.

But in this case she ultimately didn’t accept anything after the incident.

I feel high pay, high position although she’s a newbie won’t hold up as evidence in court. Coz it equally doesn’t make sense that a newbie who has shown potential being promoted quickly indicates ulterior motive because that newbie could very well be a guy. And it’s not like he made her a director or gave her shares/equity.

She’s at the losing end because of her delayed response and the other party actually has a lot of solid evidence. Especially the one in the art gallery…. Whereby there was just the two of them and she had no idea she was being filmed…. One could argue that it reflects their private relationship when she is at her most natural relaxed state. But her case borderlines Stockholm syndrome…. So it’s obvious he has a grip on her and she finally admits it in Ep. 11 whereby she explicitly states that she is unable to say no to him….

I can’t wait for the whole drama+thriller genre to unfold! Super curious.

But he has a way with people though, especially women… did you see how scared Jelly Lin was in the first few episodes….? Like it was just so heartbreaking to watch.

Yes, totally selfish narcissistic sociopath. Luckily this Li Yi is not so dumb that she isn’t even financially secure. At least she is, though still dumb…. I mean the only reason I can think of is she believes she’s in love which honestly is an amazing feat by the dude coz it’s like an open secret that he has tonnes of girls, mind you, frequently….. 🤮🤮🤮

Zhou Xun’s speech as a lawyer in Ep. 7 just left me in awe. Jelly Lin is amazing, exactly like an attractive, inexperienced 25-yr old female who just graduated and only started working for 6-months…. Liu Yi Jun was sucha good choice, it would have been disappointing if they picked a physically attractive ahjusshi. He’s so charming in this role, even I nearly shed a tear when he told his sob story of growing up…. 😢🤣

Zhou Xun’s explanation to Jelly Lin totally reminded me of the “Amber Heard vs. Johnny Depp” case…. Although that wasn’t rape but it’s so similar in many aspects…. The entire process and outcome of that was exactly like wot Zhou Xun illustrated, providing a forewarning. I wonder if Amber Heard knew prior taking her case to court, I was definitely surprised with how her case progressed and subsequently concluded…

An important point worth noting, which is a rather rare circumstance, is that the ‘victim’ (until now I believe she didn’t know about the reporting prior and wasn’t involved BUT given the drama’s genre this could change) DID NOT file the police report…. I personally don’t think she would have on her own….

I think they’ve provided enough insinuation and hints to indicate that it will be similar to the Amber Heard case whereby it all boils down to who has the best legal team, best PR tactics, and who has/gathers more evidence instead of wot actually transpired and the intention/malice behind, those aren’t important anymore… Jelly Lin is already at the losing end of the race….

I felt the same, and wondered if a woman who is capable, financial successful, relatively attractive….. would really….. stay as the “hidden” mistress…..? Is she even considered a mistress? I’m kinda dumbfounded….

Like he is sucha Casanova, eloquent with words that he calls her his ‘soulmate’ or confidante…. Which are already two labels that differ in meaning depending on perspective… makes me just roll my eyes…. 🙄

So why did Yu Jin want to kill her husband…….? It looked like Yu Jin only discovered about Ju-Ah with her husband after she sent someone to kill him….? Or was that the reason why she wanted to kill him?

Also, he purposely targeted Ju A because he knew she was his wife’s daughter? But he has been a paedophile all along?

I don’t get it, why though….? Why target her child? He just hates her for no reason?
